cons

1. You wouldn't know the history of this used car, lemon means lemon. (then again, there are a lot of used cars with unknown history)

2. It's highly likely to be difficult to resell. perception thing.

3. Naturally following, trade-in for future rides also prepare to take a deep hit.

4. Since the car is used, expect wear-n-tear maintenance to be earlier.

pros

a. $ savings of course

b. There is a series of paperwork and inspection for import cars, cause it may be viewed as a loop hole ($). So, the checks are stringent.

c. If these documents are provided for your retention, I think not too bad.

d. In the documents, the original car manufacture date, reg date, country of origin are available. You can still have an idea of its 'history'.

Hope is the first step on the road to disappointment.

another catch is the parf works on the original reg date, which in this car's case is 1 Mar 2011. So parf will expire end Feb 2021, while the car is usable based on COE till end Feb 2022, which wouldn't make sense if the stated OMV is almost $120K. This car must 'tai' before parf expires :P
