braking poblem w204

I didn't trust the rosso when I read tirerack.com wet rating for it   :)

Above is personal opinion only. I prefer tyres with BOTH good dry and wet traction ever since my experience with Yokomama Aspec DBs...  :P

Anyways, on the topic of ABS, for C-class, Pg70-1 of manual describes ABS. The first section already mentions we should avoid press-release-press brake method.

ABS can be a shocker for a first time experience. We might feel as though brakes cannot jiak.  ^_^

really? i thought tyrereviews rated it number one summer tires in front of the likes of goodyear f1 asymmetric, michelin ps3 and csc5. but anyway, so far i am quite satisfied with the tires...

as for ABS.. lesson learned.. and after watching a few you tubes of ABS in action, the crackling sounds she heard are indeed ABS noise.

really a shocker for first time, like losing control of the car.

My girlfriend was driving the car this morning, and as she was slowing down on a downward sloping exit from highway, the car did not slow down on braking but produced continuos loud clacking sounds. However, she managed to stop the car in time just centimeters away from the car in front.

The brake works fine when she tested it out again on horizontal road stretch.

But then similar event happened again as she was entering a basement carpark. After which, there is a "slippery road' sign shown on dash board for few seconds.

Anyone has similar experience? Quite scary to have malfunctioning brake, especially in a new car.

(the condition of both episodes: downward sloping and wet road)

thanks for advises..

braking in both conditions will usually trigger the ABS.. this is to prevent the wheel from locking up and skid (or glide)..

important is to brake earlier than later in such conditions.

I got the same experience. When I drove my car down to my basement carpark (road is wet), it doesn't stop. I almost hit the wall. I step the brake hard in order to stop. After that the brake went normal. I notice when it rain or wet road, when you doing a turning or down slope, these would happen. My advice is to drive slow. :startle:

Cheers.....

Ernest :)
