Um.. ok not so much the "wow-ed" by Jobs for me although I've been on the platform since the iPhone's debut. It's more about the curated experience for both apps and stable OS releases. Makes sense for me as my work environment runs OSX. Open source is a good thing. The flipside is malware code insertion into apps in the marketplace are pretty rampant.

One thing I dislike about Android and it's adopting handset manufacturers is the non standardized way OS updates are available for the devices. Case in point - I have a 2009 HTC Hero that will not officially upgrade beyond Eclair 2.1 whereas a 2009 iPhone 3GS still runs iOS6.

Whichever you choose, integration is key.

All androids have option for auto update. I think what he talks about is latest update not available for older models.

Yes, the downside is that when new Android OS is available, older phones might not be upgraded to the new OS. In Apple context, eg iPhone3GS, you can install iOS6. But if you have a very old Android OS phone running on Android OS2.xx, you cannot upgrade to Android OS4.xx. The most u get is a patch update of Android OS2.

Anyway lifespan of mobile phones is very short. Personally if you think you like the phone, just get it. Afterall, which phone you choose, as long you are happy and can serve your needs can liao. Don't just "follow" what others say is good.

IMHO Android OS you can be easily exposed to malware and virus but for Apple, their apps are screened and check before posted to AppStore. But if you jailbreak, it's the same as exposing yourself to virus and malwares too. Like me, use iPad2 and Note2... Best of both worlds! Too bad RIM apps not attractive.. Otherwise I like BlackBerry for their email. Then again, BB is only good for BlackBerry Enterprise Solution (BES) and not BlackBerry Internet Service (BIS) with BES meant for Corporate and BIS for individuals. BB had a good messaging system but it's not for cross platform between Apple and Android unlike Whatsapp.

Eh, poor Nokia... Nobody seems to be using them? Anybody using phones running on the new Windows Mobile? Think is WinMo8? I used the WinMo6.5 way back.. Was disappointed with the experience. Not much apps either. WindowsMarket place decommissioned already right?

Again for iPhone series, eventhough the latest OS is made available to older models, newer OS is not fully operational. For example IO6 is not fully operational on iphone4, it is good only from 4S. In my personal experience, iphone is losing its glory now.
