Brands for Tyres

Hi bros,

I notice that different batches of W213 have different brands of tyres. Is there a better brand of tyres or are all the brands pretty much the same in terms of quality?

lowest quote to the factory and need to meet MOE standards for run flats.

i got bridgestones t100 on mine while the previous and next batches got the continentals.

changing to non-run flats soon.

Why do you want to change to non-run flat tyres?

I was told the quietest wheels are the Michelin.

My next set is primacy 3, planned.

I collected my W213 two weeks ago and got Korean Hankook Tyres! Are they the original set from Mercedes factory?

Not sure if they are original from Mercedes factory. I got Pirelli P Zero tyres on my SLK on collection.

Did you buy from C&C or PI? C&C will not give  you Korean brand tyres.

For my GLC coupe, I have got Hankook S1 Evo tires but earlier batches get Bridgestone.

Is that so? I don't know about it. My car was provided with Michelin tyres. I thought C&C will only use European or US brands

if they did it on their Kia or Mitsubishi cars, it's ok. Not here..

It's not a C&C thing but from Daimler itself, more specifically from the factory. This also applies to other makes.

So I guess the Germany Daimler factory wants to cut cost for certain models?

Maybe, but for a premium one like the GLC? Doesn't make sense.

Besides, it's cheaper to support the local industry, like Continental and buy their tires.. odd

Mine came with Hankook S1 Evo. Costs wise, it is comparable to the Bridgestone tires the earlier batches received. My guess is it really is dependent on the availability of the tires at the point in time.

When did your car arrive? It seems that  different timing also comes with different tyre brands.

hankook is now an official supplier in Germany

It seems that Daimler decides to use hankook for your batch. You may check the Vin of your car to find out the actual delivery date.
