Sunglasses holder for A, CLA & GLA

Met a new friend here (Jin) in this forum who's waiting for his new CLA45. He pointed out this sunglasses holder in USA Merc forum. Decided to embark on this project with the part no & ordered thru Goldenlink. Took less than a week to deliver. Cost only $270 before GST.

Brought the car to Elebest who took some time to fix it as my car came with A/C climate dual zone control. It has 2 sensors in the console. Had to literally transfer the whole circuit board from old to new. Most of the C&C CLA cars are non climate control A/C....so should be more straight forward.

Yeah, there were many theories of how to get the sunglass holder.

 

For the longest time, the consensus was that if you have pano roof, you will not get them. Then many people posted pictures of them not having pano roof and also not getting the holder. Then more people posted pictures of having both pano roof and holder from factory. We suspect it depends on the mood of the MB workers in the factory that day?

 

Please note that for different headliner colours, it is a different model code.

 

Those with pano roof can also do this mod too, but just need people like Elebest to retrofit the circuit board over.

 The early CLAs made in 2014 are without the sunglasses holder. Yours must be 2015 YOM model.

I have this in my W176 A250. YOM 2013.

In fact I didn't know about this holder until I read this post and check out my own car.
