Just bought a 2006 E200ML. Drive often at night on Malaysian highway, found that the stock headlight (halogen bulb) not bright enough for Malaysian highway speed, especially when curve left with on going cars light beaming... Any member has converted into HID ? Would after-market HID Kit (with slim balast) 6,000K suitable ? Thanks in advance.

Hi, I changed my 2007 FL E200K recently, very bright and satisfy. Haven't try on Malysia highway night drive yet but guess its better than the stock xenon lamps. If not mistaken your car head lamps b4 FL, are not the projector type, therefore not really suitable for HID conversion. Suggest u consider to upgrade your head lamps to FL type, will certainly make your car Sui Sui. Cheers!

Welcome!! Stock light throws further than HID but brightness is dimmer. Yr halogen bulb is it orange in color. Am asking this bcoz the previous owner might change it to white. For HID mod do look for Sonic our site sponsor.

Went to Sonic and decided to change the whole headlight tomorrow into FL E200K type, go for 6,000K HID.

Would FL headlight exact fit ? Will know for sure tomorrow.

For changing the whole headlight, what else to be carefull with ?

Thanks in advance !

fitted 8k HID, aftermarket.

subsequently dwngraded to 6k ( my 8k fused after 2.5 years)

tried in JB roads b4, (perhaps is my windscreen is tinted) ... i dont really find its bright imo.

i have to resort to using high beam(stock halogen bulb) on trunk road (at speed of 60 - 80km/h).

and highway.

6k is white light is but light throw is definitely not as good as 4.3k.

however if u want cosmetic look yet dont want to compromise brightness and safety, 6k is fine.

importantly KEEP THE HIGH BEAM stock =) .... that is my hint for LTA checks, safety and means of warning others in your path =)

the higher the kelvin, the lower the lumens(brightness)....

if using 6k will not blow fuse....

using 8k or even 12k will not blow your fuse....

8k does not draw higher current than 6k....

i done up my w124 with 4300k and fogs 3000k...

am happy with it....

only spent S$180 on each set!!!

:D :D :D

cheers!!!!
