i was told it must be booked at CnC a nd must WnW (wait n wait) for the keys to come ????

I just purchased a key fob for my car at Mercedes Benz Center.

All in it takes about 2 weeks to arrive. Cost is S$8XX.XX

This is including the service to deactivate the missing key fob (I misplaced it)

If I recall correctly, I read somewhere in this forum that you're able to purchase an additional insurance for your Merc key from Chartis that costs $85 per year. Don't know if it's true.

I recently paid $5xx for my replacement for '06 Slk. Waited bat 1 mth for mine. Price is dependent on car model and features. Keyless go keys are more ex. Mine is keyfull.

Yup.

My next door Chartis neighbour says my Chartis motor policy covers my car key.

I ask him if i can put the key into my coffee and stir.

He said can and Chartis will replace a new key for me.

But til today, i still no dare try.

cos my the other next door neighbour is from aviva..

If Chartis cover is claim.. will my NCD be gone? Reset to zero..

I doubt NCD will be affected as you are paying additional premium for covering your keys.

However, having said that let's say there's a high incidence of claims for keys, or for that matter even windshields, I believe any insurer will raise future premiums and ultimately we end up paying more.
