Tow away cannot prevent' date=' but by towing more hoo ha is made. That is why need to tip the hotel staff or carpark attendent. Also park with wheels turn and secure steering with the steering lock.[/quote']

Hopefully the carpark attendant is not the same cahoots to tip off the car thief.

I bet the tipoff commission is bigger than most tip received.

Always a risk. I also practice super kiasu when I'm in malaysia. Any part of it.

Found this interesting link.

Solid video.

I witness a towing incident at a prominent golf course in Johor. It was actually a car thief but was like too late when I heard about the commotion. Really under broad daylight. They just tow.

I have never stopped over in JB' date=' usually I go straight up to Melaka or KL. JB is just like a cowboy town, way too much crime happening there![/quote']

I too avoid JB like the plague!

I have driven to Melaka in my C180 a few times over the past 2 years. I stay at a big reputable hotel on Makhota Parade. I remove all valuables from sight and park my car where it is clearly visible to hotel staff. It is parked head in, with wheels angled and steering lock applied. I believe doing these actions lessen the chances of the car being taken.Of course there are never any guarantees!
