C&C latest deal on subsidized instalments

Anyone saw the advert today? 2 1/2 pages and what caught my attention was the subsidized instalments. CLS 250 CDI at $1,288 monthly, E200 CGI sports edition at $1,088 monthly and best to come, SLK 200 for $888. Just too good to be true and not sure what's the catch. PM my SE who sold me my current car but have not heard from him. Maybe, he is overwhelmed with buyers at the showroom now....

Very interesting. I wonder what the catch is...

reason is because of SG diesel tax revised... ONLY FOR EURO5 models... EURO4 models forget it... cost a bomb..

and EURO5 (Blue-Tec Diesel).. u cannot start ur engine with JUST diesel cause u need Blue-Tec.. So it about maybe 5 tanks of diesel + 1 tank of Blue-Tec... Lower sulfur thus better CO2 emission.

Euro4 are purely diesel power...

My guess is that could be due to financing - you take max loan quantum with max loan period and bank gives you some 'rebate'. You can't escape the numbers lah. Nice to look don't mean nice to eat.

Must take 90% loan. For a e-class worth of 220k, u need put downpayment of 22k. And the subsidized rate is only for the 1st 12 mths.

Numbers games again. If u can afford the full sum, this promotion does not attract u.

This number games only make ppl who take large loans when buying cars think and do the sum again n again to find any loopholes to gain advantage.

YES, I fall into the 2nd group of ppl. Keke

I seriously think the subsidized instalments is only for certain number of months cos no matter how I calculate, it's just impossible for the such a low instalments payment, even for a 10 year loan. Not unless you pay at least 30-40% downpayment and near to zero interest rate....or maybe made in Thailand/China merc....

hmmmm... so the conditions is

1) 90% loan only or can like 70% or 60%?

2) List price or price after over-trade?

3) How many years loan? or must be 10 yrs?

4) Loan conditions any penalty if say after 1 year I pay one lump sum as partial loan repayment?

Apologies, no time to go down C&C this week. Just want to know to make calculation to see if fall into the 2nd group also or not.. :P

Spot on, bro. Only for the first 12-months. Subsequently revert back to normal rates.

Can't choose diamond white as white is not favorable to me n my Feng shui. Is there diamond black?

Only u know me best. Or we share the same taste.

Actually. We can play around this promotion deal. We can try ask for direct discount instead of subsidized rate. If subsidized rate for one e-class, the installment difference is almost 16k for the 1st 12 mths. Ask the SE to knock 16k of the car price or add on the old car trade in price.

With some bargaining here n there, maybe a e-class installment payment can be similar to a Honda accord one.

If there is a group buy, it may be lower

Har? I thought most TDI engines selling here are already EU5 compliance?

I was at C&C this morning. My SE said that this promotion does not have overtrade for trade-in car. Meaning they use the overtrade to spread it out evenly across 12-months to reflect lower installments for the initial period. Just a different way to skin the same cat.
