Bench run in as seen in the video is different from actual on the road run in. What the manual says actually helps running in not only the engine but the entire drive train. Both need to be run in together.

I followed the manual. To me - it's a short 1500km to take it easy so that I can worry less about the many times more km to follow so no point risking anything. It's now completed and behind me and I can enjoy my driving henceforth.

You can see these robots at work close up when you visit the factory in Stuttgart. It is indeed amazing to see it twist and turn to fit a complete dashboard through the door opening and assemble it in one action; insert and bolt.

What I find clever is the logistic part of having different configuration on a same assembly line; different spec and color.

Mr. Yap - More than 20 years ago when I visited Madza Plant in Yokohama Japan, not only they have diff specs and colors but diff models of car running 929, 626, 323 all running on the same line

My FL C180K passed the 2000km after close to 2 months, this week.

I was driving on the traffic filled PIE on Wed morning, when it cross the 2000km mark. Once I passed the traffic obstruction, I accelerated gently, and I could feel the difference. I felt that the engine has become smoother and the changing of gears were much smoother as well, too bad only up to 5th gear. I wound down the windows at a quieter road, and heard that the engine was quieter as before when reving it.

When my wife (new driver) drove the next day, she asked why it seem more powerful.

So can conclude that there is still the need to run or break in.

My experience to share with you.
