Different brands of Petrol

Hi friends,

Is it necessary to use the same brand of petrol or is it ok to mix the different brands of petrol? For example, if I am using petrol from ESSO and I decide to top it up from Shell, will it affect the running of the car?

pertol all come from the same refineries. it just that they add different addidtives for each brand from what i understand.

rumor says that the additives is not good but mix together, but honestly i dun think so la. myabe if got any chemist can verify here.

but i nv mix v-power with other grades, that for sure !

bro,

i dun mind using watever petrol tt is available as long as cheap....

after all the oil burns.....

before top up in jb, take spc 92....then go jb put shell v power 97....

car still runs and feels good....then after travelling 400 km, top up with esso 92 then go jb top up wth

esso f1...car still can run very well....

then use 92 again go jb use petronas premium 97..wahlau better can run faster n longer

so the message is really...stretch ur dollar and change to ringgit to top up and bewae which petrol station u go to...sometimes

pple see u drive a star... they also want ur star........

so be happy n enjoy ur dive...petrol just burns....in indonesia the ptrol is worse quality but their merc still glides.....

:cheer:

V-power and 8000 are both ron98 with different addictive...

dun be deceived by V-power thinking it's ron100 less you are in Australia before July 2008.

So mixing Shell V-power and Esso 8000 should be ok?

no problem mixing la ... used to be stupid stupid put only Vpower because everyone said it's very good

in my jaguar i actually pumped 92 and the car returned better mileage than the Vpower! there is a difference in the fuel that we use, but manufactures have already done the calculations to ensure that the engine will burn whatever is in the tank efficiently. Shouldn't be any issues ;)

should not buy the lowest grade ... your fuel cap will tell you what is the lowest acceptable by the car. 95 should be ok i guess but i won't advice 92 when the fuel cap said min 93 (for my car)

I think for Mercedes, using Octane 95 should be fine. Im using Octane 95 for my car(Non Merc) all the while. Don see any issues with it. As for brand, I usually stick to one for points accumulation and discount. But mixing should be fine.
