Roof Rack for Bicycles

Guest Jedi

Recommended Posts

Was wondering if anyone can provide some suggestions...

I need to get a roof rack for my bicycles. I cant use the rear mounts like Saris Bones because of the overhanging third brake light. The problem is that my car is 1.68m tall (according to wiki) and I need to keep the car under 1.8m tall.

I spoke to the guys at Thule but they said that their system will add abt 20cm to the car's height.

Has anyone tried other reliable roof racks that add less height to the car?

Thanks in advance.

hi jedi

which model are you driving ? i am using the saris bones on my E200, no problem with the 3rd brake lights. I can't use the roof mount cause it will hit the bar at my multi storey carpark.

on my GL i currently have both the Thule roof rack and Saris RS rear rack.

my rear hatch also has some small spoiler thing. to prevent scratches, i place a small towel betwwen the strap and the paintwork before tightening. problem solved.
