Brake squeal....

Hi All,

Need advice for the brake squeal for my '06 W203.

Recently, I had replaced ALL (original) brake pads and rotors at the same time. Brake hose was replaced 2mths before that. Ever since the pads and rotors were replaced, I am having the annoying sound coming out everytime I apply the brake. Seems like I'm driving a bus. My mechanic had the car in and out of the w/shop for almost 2 weeks before he managed to deduced that the calipers were the culprit. But I am not too convinced by this findings because the brakes were working fine before I changed all pads and rotors. Mileage is 215k..

Could this be the material fault? I only got this super HIGH pitch sound in the morning when I apply the brakes and it would mellowed down after some time. I wouldn't want to get any performance brake kit for replacement as I am on a very high mileage usage per month. I just need the stock settings..

a simple/cheap solution for you to try out first would be to spray on some brake cleaning fluid.

had this issue in the past on my evo due to high temp pads and after a couple of sprays of brake cleaning solution all was well. any workshop should have this. don't know if they will charge but shouldn't be too expensive. maybe 5 bucks?

something like this product from 3m:

Probably due to bad workmanship (alignment) or product quality. Is all the parts replaced is brandnew? I will seek second opinion for this problem, try our site sponsor workshop for advice.

But, would these cleaner do harm to our brakes? I tried suggesting to the mechanic to apply some of these but he would not recomend. Hv anyone try it on without any problem thereafter?

All parts were bought by me and they are all original. I will try that second opinion.

Anyway, would it be better if I send back to C&C? I tried calling them to get a quote for front rotors and pads replacement and it was $1.4k. I've got fractions of it from outside w/shop with own parts. But will C&C do their best job to find and solve the problem if I would have sent to them earlier? BTW, I have never visit them before..

Are we talking about the front brakes?

If it's just the front brakes & came earlier to this forum I would have recommended U C32AMG BBK.

They would cost U with complete 4 pots calipers, x-drilled rotors with SSBH & installation for lower $2k+ @ Benzline.

You can get CnC to check your brakes or maybe U can also visit our site sponsor workshops Starblack or MBM (also known as KBS Sport)

The squeal comes from the rear brakes. I was saying that I did a check with C&C for just the front rotors and pads replacement.

Oh yes, I saw the tread on the AMG BKK. Thanks boss for the offer. I just own this car in Jun '10 and this is the second time I got the front rotors changed. The first one was when I got this car. I am on a very high mileage monthly, have clocked almost 90k KM since. How long can the AMG BKK and the pads last?

hahahaha....if U drive like me ( drive as if there's no brake on the car to get good FC :P)....handed my W203 (Feb 2004) to my younger bro when it was 50K km and I guess he didn't change the brake pads till it hit 60K+ km. I changed to the C32AMG brakes when the car mileage was less than 2000km. His current mileage is 90k+ km and no complaints on his brakes.

For your rear brakes squeal - U got choices of CnC or our site sponsors that I've mentioned.

Bro, I had a similar "squeal" experience like you before on my previous ride.....after all that checking and even replacing brake pads, it was all solved by a second workshop who found a nail "stuck" between the calipers!!!

Sometimes, a second opinion saves us money and do just the trick. Good luck.
