Cycle Servicing

Greetings,

I have a couple of questions to consult fellow bros in this forum pls.

I have E200cgi bought last year and the mileage just past 5000km. The message prompted me 5 days ago saying servicing is overdue. The 2 stickers on the windscreen says tyre rotation 5000km and servicing 15,000 or 1 year whichever is earlier. My question is:-

- To maintain the warranty with C&C, is it a requirement to hv all the scheduled service done at C&C within this period

- If Cycle does the scheduled servicing, can I go to Starblack to do a transmission oil change for example.

Thanks in advance for advise.

Welcome!! Yes u are require to go back to C&C for 1st servicing 15,000km & so fort. Else u may void yr warranty with them. Whatever u do with outside workshop is at yr own risk.

A warm :welcome: to the forum!

Hope U enjoy your stay with us!

What message prompt U that your car is due for servicing?

Is there a message on your instrument cluster that prompt U that service is due?

IIRC Service A or 1st servicing is only at 15,000km and not 5000km.

If your odometer is correctly at 5000km, the instrument cluster under km to service should read in another 10,000km.

Are U the 1st owner and if not could someone "fiddle" with your odometer?

Thank you. It's 1 year in January 2012. Message in instrument cluster. I reckon it's prompt by the date condition.

The service message do not runs on date but mileage.

Your odometer show only 5000km and yet you get a message for 15,000km servicing. One year mileage 5000km is pretty rare.

I done my 1st servicing last Sat @ 6000+km near 6 mths of ownership.

The service counter was not reset and it shows my next service is due in 15000km less 6000+km or 8000+km.

Anyway since it is due for servicing you should send your ride in.

Thanks for the prompt reply. Bought preowned. So no credits.

If I do the 1 year due service at Cycle, do I then do the next at the 15,000 mark?

When I had my E250 cgi I had the service booklet which shows what mileage is due for servicing and the maintenance needed to carry out at each servicing.

For my current ride when I sent in for servicing last Sat, I gave them my service booklet to fill in the service done at the current mileage and stamped with CnC chop so a proper maintenance record can be kept.

erm.. lazy to search for this qn..

servicing is whichever comes first right.. if u follow ur mileage and exceeds the date required for servicing (when the date reaches first and mileage not yet), will warranty be voided?

The message didn't mention it's a 15,000 service due. Just servicing overdue by 5 days.

It's one of those Daimler package when I bought it and I am pretty much a low mileage p.a type.

Is it correct that service records are stored online now. I used to have the booklet when driving the e200k but was told that it's all online with cycle.

May I ask why do you service at 6,000km at 6 mths when it not due for either yet? I suppose in this instance it wouldn't harm the vehicle except for the extra cost for the extra servicing.

It's my personal opinion that in our hot tropical weather, I want to do my engine oil change @ 15,000km or 6 months whichever is earlier.

Since I do not drive my car often, it will be likely an oil change every 6 months. I prefer Mobil I.

Ya...I often visit MBC for kopi and sometimes lunch when it was run by Marmalete. Kopi used to be from espresso machine but since changed caterer, the kopi is now like "brew of the day" type. It's certainly cheapo than other makes in the Leng Kee area. Volvo serves espresso coffee and muffins FOC.

Everyone knows a good cup of kopi must be brewed from the machine when wanted and not sitting in a thermo flask for the whole day.

Oh well, I still go for the kopi in MBC when I am around the area and feel like having a toilet break and air-con.
