Am looking around for a 07/ 08 W211 and came around serveral in the market. Can anyone enlighten me; the push start button, is optional or standard? Came across one yesterday and the dealer claimed it was not initiated but can go See n See to activate it. True boh? and also keyless go can be operationally locked but not unlock. Something wrong?

Many thanks in advance for the answers.

Keyless go is only factory fitted in Germany etc & came with a push button. So locally cannot be installed or activated etc. The beauty of this keyless go is that u can lock / unlock & start the engine without using the fob key but the key must be within the car range etc else its wont function. Do a search thru youtube so as to hv a better understanding of this feature.

Thanks Blackmercs. Hmm... so meaning the keyless go is not functioning properly and pushstart is spoilt.

The push START/STOP button for the W211 is located on the top of shift gear lever.

IIRC It was made available on the Avantgarde model as a KEYLESS option.

It either comes with the car or doesn't!

Like Blackmercs said - It cannot be retrofit locally and "not activated" means not working.

If U are keen, U might want to send it to our site sponsor workshop MBM to have a check.

Probably!! Did u try lock / unlock the car by touching the driver side handle without using the key fob??

Yes I did! Can lock but cannot unlock. Used the key fob to unlock and dealer claimed he was not aware. It was an Avantgarde model btw...

It is certainly a faulty keyless go for that car. You should be able to lock and unlock with a working keyless go.

Yes indeed, funny that it can only lock but not unlock.

Its in the 100k to 110k range depending on mth... early 07 (5 year-old) is around 90-ish but then again it depends on no.of owners, mileage and whether keyless faulty or not! :becky:

If your budget is not a big constraint, look for the 2008 models.

They are usually avantgarde model, with multispoke 18" rims and color LCD Audio 20 Head Unit with Aux input.

If U do not mind higher road tax, the E230 6 cylinder 2.5L engine imho is a better buy.

It is a quieter 6 cylinder engine without the whining of the supercharger and 7 speed G-Tronics gear box.

Oh yes! Dun believe too much what U see on the odometer.

Many of the rides got their mileage adjusted.

Here a good 2 pages on sgcarmart for U to look over!

Thank you Unker! E230 is definitely but hurts the pocket more with the higher road-tax and petrol comsumption! I am slow-driver so do not mind the lower displacement :music:

Correct.. keyless Go when u want to lock the door from outside you press the black button on the door handle. But when you want to unlock from outside, you just need to pull the handle to unlock and open door.. pressing the black button will just keep locking.

2008-2009 model are called the limited edition. That is when the new W212 came out and CnC trying to clear stock of the old W211.. they also comes with bigger front brakes and drilled brake disc.

We guys here are telling U the truth!:hand:

When comes to tail end models MB always throw in lots of stuff.

I compared my previous Dec 2007 W211 and those after that.

Lots of diff!

That's 1 of the reason I bought my W164 ML last year Jul 2011 knowingly that MB has launched their new model W166 ML.

Compared to a 2010 ML, I got 19" AMG rims, Day Running Lights, Sport Pedals, etc.

Go for a mid to late 2008 model be it E200K or E230

The E230 road tax is $1796/yr

The E200K road tax is $972/yr

The diff is <$70/mth

imho,

The E230 NA engine will be quieter than the E200K

The petrol comsumption will be not much different especially with the 7 Speed G-tronics year box as compared to the E200K 5 speed gear box.

The 7 speed gear box is very smooth!

Anyway here's a list of 2008 E200K on the sgcarmart

http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/listing.php?RGD=2008&MOD=e200k&VEH=0&TRN=0&AVL=2

Possible look for Direct Owner - Likely odometer not adjusted!

All avantgarde models are lowered suspension.

All the FL E200K avantgarde also comes with tinted blue glass

18" rims for 2008 and later rides

2008 Audio 20 got color LCD screen - earlier models do not.

This also apply to NGT rides too.
