it could be your steering lock mechanism. Just check if there is free play on your steering after removing key. If there is free play you have to change the module inside the steering. If it happens again try moving your steering up and down, it may sometimes allow the car to start.

Cheers. Keep me posted

Any advice blackmerc?

Meaning no more warranty? If yes, then is better to seek their opinion & compare the repair cost. But if you cant sleep well after checking out with them then go back to See&See for advise :). To me always seek second opinion on repairs before commit. U coming today for the gtg?

The meaning behind the above the question?

Problem : insert key, car can't start. Battery ok

In the 1st place, the gear has to be in park postion before he can remove the key

Maybe sensor in the key faulty and can't communicate with car. C&C can rectify. Unlikely that starter motor kaput.

I think u are right.

today i insert the key, i didnt hear the wheezing sound. Usually when i insert the key there is a little rotating sound. Seems like the sensor cant sense my key...

I wonder if this is covered under TWM warrenty...

Now the qns is...My car cannot turn on, the gear also cannot change to 'N'

How to tow???? can meh????:Cry::Cry:

Check your manual - IIRC there's instructions on how to manually release the gear to N. I don't have mine with me now so can't have a quick look at it for you.

Did you try with spare key? If the spare key also same problem then the fault may point to the car's ignition sensor.

If it can crank, then most likely not the battery prob. I had once the same problem. tot is the batt, changed it still the same. The found out is the fuel pump faulty. Changed and prob solved. Damage S1,000.

Cheerz!

Did u send to CnC or to other workshop?

Mine cant even crank. Its nothing to do with battery problem.

I've just called up MBM and Starblack, they dont even know if they can do it.

I wondering if i shld tow the car to either one of them of jus straight to CnC were they will tear my pocket....lol

Anyway no more warrenty... And i heard TWM close down...i got warrenty with them. WTF.....I wonder how now....

What a shit Monday for u

If star blacks n MBM. Can't commit to u, C&C is the only place. Call them n ask for the pricing 1st before u decide.

Or any senior bros here has a better solution

I had the same problem before, trust me it is the steering lock mechanism that is kaput. This is a common problem with 2008- 2010 c class . They have upgraded the module for the newer cars. Look for ah heng from auto spritz,

he knows what to do and he did an excellent job fixing my problem. Honestly,it is not going to be cheap if not under warranty. They need to indent the green key to program your car after changing the steering lock.

Meantime you may try to manually move your steering up/down forward/back and than insert key and remove. Your steering will lock and you are able to start the car after that. Cheers.

yes bro...not a shit mon.. but a shit sat for me since it happened 2days ago.

Called up CnC and they infd that most likely is steering lock problem when i told them the problems i faced...

called MBM and they say ask me send to CnC better...If they do it will take a long time cos as mine is a CnC car. CnC can do faster for me if i send there.

Called Starblack they say they can do. Dunno how true...I think MBM also can do it just that it takes a much longer time. So prolly guessing Starblack just wants business so ask me tow car here and talk later..... -___-||

I guess CnC is the only way to go now.... Sighz

Steering lock prolly gonna cost me a bomb. anyone knows how much??

Bro i suggest you send it to cnc because they are able to procure the green key easily as they are the agents. The key has to come from germany. If starblack/mbm/ they will need to go through a third party usually malaysia to get it. That will take sometime 1 month or longer. Cost about 3000-4000 dollars

It happened twice to my ride (W204 C180K) last year.

At first cant crank start, surprised! So double check whether in P position, aircon & all switches off than 2nd cracked ok. Initially tot its e key batt weak so brought along my spare key n it happened once w this spare key too mths later.

Drive dwn to C&C to hve it diagnose (under engine pb category). SE informed me after tat he's changed both key batts n updated my ECU. Cost S$240++ incl gst. :becky:

Car is fine thus far!
