98 w124? must a made in India E220 then. Happen to be a dark blue one?

should be able to be fixed for around 2k.

Fixed as in repair or fixed as in replace?

should be a swap. ie they take your box and give you a recond one. if you bought in in jan 2010. it was the one i saw.. paid a deposit and then let go... sob sob..

but then for that car the gearbox was fixed not too long ago.

Thanks for the info, any good workshop to recommend?

Nope not the one you saw. My dad's had this for the longest time, we renewed the COE a few years back.
