Guys,

Any feedback between the 2 in terms of drive feel?

Interior I know coupe back seats definitely more slanted and comfortable than cabrio.

I kinda remember 1 year back when I tried the coupe, the drive was amazing.

Cabrio was just more cool.

Anyone have any experiences and comaprisons between the coupe and cab? Both interior, exterior and drive feel, FC?

Hehe... Poison. But unlikely la.

Guess a 7g amg kit coupe would be nice to drive.

Only tested the cabrio on my friend's ride for fun earlier in 2011 and basing it vs my e350 coupe, I go with driving feel first cause that's what I go for first in my car selection.

The driving department

Power: Surprising for a 1.8L. I think it's turbo charged if I am not wrong. Responsive, good for daily driving. Compare to my E350, I think the 1.8L turbo charge give more bang for bucks. Or maybe, the 1.8L E250 actually surpassed my expectation, while I feel a wee bit let down by the E350 V6.

Suspension comfort/cornering performance

I feel there's a difference, personally. My coupe seems to drive harder through corner, while the cabrio seems softer on it's suspension as well as the cabriolet do not feel as rigid as compared to the coupe. Possibly due to the soft-top. Just a personal experience.

Interior:

Seems the same to me... I can't spot the difference. All I can say is, nice!

noise wise, feels almost the same as well. Maybe when raining, maybe the cabrio maybe noiser. Didn't get to test in rain condition.

Cabrio rear seats(with top down) getting in is obviously gonna be a whole lot easier as compared to the coupe. The coupe rear seat, imo is a bit tough to get out. Cause the rear seat somehow is very arched in deep, hence very tough to get out of the seat, at least for my friends and elderly parents so far it happened to be so.

I think both the cabrio and coupe door the same, opening radius is quite big, so just something to take note of. Sometimes in tight carparks, door when open a little bit wider has high chance of banging another car.

Exterior...

if you ask me, it's a slam dunk. The cabriolet win hands down. I think both comes with AMG styling kit?

Petrol consumption, well obviously horrible for the e350's v6, worse or same as my previously turbo charged car which is faster.

For the e250 cabriolet, I am not sure, reckon it has a light pressure turbo with 1.8L, hopefully it should be quite fuel efficient.

So, why am I with a e350? Purely good price, coupled with driving feel and a larger displacement with more rigid body. I'm just more functional over aesthetics. :becky:

I can volunteer to poison you with the coupe in the next meet up, if we all can make it.

Adrain, whats your fuel consumption like for your E350?

better cornering in the 350 could be also due to the sports suspension too. did ur frd's 250 have the sports suspension?

My fuel consumption so far can be between 5-6 depend on driving city or sub urban. Im generally a heavy right footer though :becky:.

You might have nailed it on the suspension. Not too sure about his suspension. It's just a feeling that the coupe feels more rigid when cornering hence I do feel more confident when on spirited driving, pushing it to a further limit.

Another way of seeing is, it feels like the coupe comes with a front strut bar while the cabriolet does not. (both doesn't comes with it though). That kind of rigid feel difference.

Yes I fully agree that coupe cornering beats cabrio hand down. You feel the car in line with you when cornering.

Looks wise agree as well cabrio wins coupe.

So it's looks or handling then.

Mmm.. How come coupe got front strut bar and cabrio don't have? What the purpose of front strut bar?

That's what you think bro.

You are half right.

Imagine now your baby crying, then need open top 20 secs, then carry your baby out 10 seconds, then must ensure safety no cars around, carry your baby or put in pram, then again try close top for another 20 seconds. There goes 1 min of frustration. Worst still when in hot car park or open air hot sun. Faints.

Cabrio is cool without babies. Probably good if have kids age 7 to 10.

bro, coupe actually also don't have front strut bar. It's just the feeling.

I think the link below will illustrate the impact of having a strut bar better than I can explain in words.

Coupe back seats are more slanted and wider thus more comfortable to seat.

Cabrio back seats are narrower and more upright so adults won't find it comfortable. kids still ok.

Coupe boot space is very big as compared to Cabrio.

But Cabrio looks is too powerful to overlook all the above.
