Collecting New Car

Guest tiangk

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I'm a new member here and just bought my first car and I give my first love to MB!

I bought my new C180 2 months ago and I will be collecting my call on 12 Jan after I returned from overseas.

Really excited and looking forward to it.

I would like to ask the senior in this place a few question when I collected my car.

1. I would like to change my headlight to diamond white. And venue to change it and also is it advice able to do it? I feel that the default light does not go well with the LED light at the bottom.

2. I would like to get a chrome tip to cover the 2 exhaust pipe that has been explose. Any recommendation? And where to get them?

3. How should I start off with the new engine? Try to stretch it or drive normally?

4. The first 2 tanks of petrol should I feed it with 95 or 98?

Hope you guys can advice me.

Thx a million!

warm welcome, tiangk! :welcome:

hope to see you at our many gatherings so check out the Events section for what's happening! :thumb:

for (1) and (2), check with our site sponsor SONIC RACING... they convert headlights and they also have exhaust tips plus lots more poison... :becky:

for (3), some people don't rev more than 3000 for their 1st tank, while others redline their cars as soon as they get onto the road... most of us drive it with lots of care initially so perhaps you may want to do the same too... :bounce:

for (4), factory minimum is RON95 so it is ok for you to go with 95 from the start... but if you think conti cars should drink more expensive petrol, then go with 98...

Hi Tiangk, a :peace: warm :welcome:

Hope to see u more on our Sgmerc events! :becky:

Petrol wise, depends on yr budget! Stock n factory recommended ron95 unless yr ride fully tuned fr ultimate performance then min.98ron or V-power! Otherwise saved up fr our parts to beautified yr ride. :hand:

I'm w Caltex 95ron since collection bt now tryg out Shell ron95 coz hvg gd discount coupons!

DRL only works in the daytime as the name suggests. At night when the headlights come on, DRL will be switched off. So you wouldnt have yellow and white light combined.

2. I would like to get a chrome tip to cover the 2 exhaust pipe that has been explose. Any recommendation? And where to get them?

As suggested by others above me

3. How should I start off with the new engine? Try to stretch it or drive normally?

For the first 1000km, keep within 3k RPM and <100km/hr... Thats what I did for my last 2 cars

4. The first 2 tanks of petrol should I feed it with 95 or 98?

I have been using 95 since day 1. Save the money for mods :bounce:

Lastly, a warm welcome to you. Hope to see you on our gtg soon

Hope you guys can advice me.

A warm :welcome: jon to the family!

Hope U will enjoy your stay with us and we look forward to see U at our events. :hand:

It will void only your headlamp warranty should your "diamond white" bulb damaged your headlamp. The rest of the car warranty still intact.

If your ride dun come with Bi-Xenon headlamps, U might wanna consider

after market H.I.D set.

1 of our forum sponsor Sonic aka Steve or his son Warren can be of help to you.

Check this thread.

Thank you so much for all your respond to this thread.

I look forward to joining you guys for upcoming events. However, I travel quite often but I will take time off.

I called up Steve from Sonic and was quoted with $395 and 10% discount to change my headlight to diamond white.

Maybe will wait till CNY over then do the change.

Thanks guys!

Hi guys,

I collected my car on the 11 of Jan at about 6.30pm.

The collection was smooth and it was done within 30mins.

But........................

I went to fetch my girlfriend and send her to the doctor and park my car at Tiong Bahru Plaza.

We walk around and went back to my car at 8.40pm.

When I on my engine the middle console fail to on and the lights below the console dead as well.

I restart my car and press the on button, the console still don't work.

After that, I called my SE and she said that this error is not common at all.

So she arrange star assist to come down to where I will be having my dinner.

Within 30 mins the star assist staff came and did a check on my call for about an hour.

This was cause by a circuit at the booth area on the right. The connection was loss and the technician secured it back. After that, he advice me to go to C&C to do a full system check to ensure everything running smoothly.

hahaha... this is my experience of taking a brand new car.

Just like to share my experience!

Thx!:becky:

Aw... you are really nice just to let them go for nothing in return. If I were you, I will demand to see the manager to ask for a one to one new car exchange! haha, of course they will refuse so ask for something else. Like one year free petrol??
