C180 CGI - Sporadic jerk during drive @ around 1500 rpm

Hi Seniors

Need advice. My ride is C180 CGI just past 1 yr.

On several occasions, especially at low rev (around 1500 rpm), i get a rude and strong forward jerk when i depress the accelerator slightly.

Although its not an issue, I fear getting into an accident with this sudden, un-anticipated uncontrolled rush of power.

Could this be the turbo trying to kick in at 1500 rpm ? Should I get this checked ?

Same problem here but somehow it's less obvious after I changed from Ron 95 to 98. Somehow car feels smoother and more willing to rev up. Maybe u can give it a try.

Sounds logical if there were impurities as mentioned in other threads. I think I will do a switch for a month if that helps. The next gas station is about 2 km apart, and doesnt have Old Chang Kee.

changing the fuel may be an option.. generally, i like the drive that ron 98 gives me.. honestly, i suggest you go to your local garage and get this matter sorted.. as i understand, this jerking thing can be resolved.

this "jerk" is common for C180 CGI... i get it on mine probably once a quarter? running on esso5000 from day 1... mileage is at 36k thereabouts now... done with 1k, 15k and 30k servicing... 14 months old...

if i am not wrong, torque kicks in at 1600rpm... maybe there's a "blindspot" between 1500-1600 where the computer can't really decide which way your right foot is going next?

not much of a concern for me though... :becky:

Common for c180 cgi. Used to happen to me too. But still the best take off car ;)

The new 528 even more power. Take off at 1250 rpm. Turbo kick in.

thought 520 is turbo, 523 is NA, 528 is NA and 535 is turbo... how come 528 is turbo liao>

finish the tank of petrol and see if it happens again... i reckon that even if you do bring it to C&C and you can't replicate the problem, they will send you away with nothing done... hopefully things go smoothly for you... :becky:
