Whining/Whirring Sound from Engine

Hiya guys,

I seem to be getting a whining/whirring sound coming from my (5yr old W251) engine in the morning - kinda sounds like a lawn mower - especially at low revs below 2,000. Once the engine is warmed up, the sound goes away.

Any ideas what's happening?

Thanks in advance.

For a temp relief, use a WD40 to spray on any belt you can reach & see. Spray a little on small portion of the belt & let the engine run to spread out the lubricant. May need to change belts if the car is old.
