Criteria for PI?? Whats yr thought?

My buddy book a new car from an agent but unfortunately things got out of hand. My buddy pull me along to nego & hopefully get it resolve. But the settlement talk fails, then i suddenly realise that buying from agent is not as "safe" as we thought. Like my car sticker says "thing are not what they seem"!! Anyway will share the detail once the case is over coz might involves legal. So no comment at this moment.

Is there an ideal PI that can supercede agent services & getting alot more better deals?? Or is there such a thing called an ideal PI company in sg? Most of us will stay away from PI due to the fact that there are so many stories about buyer got scam. So most buyer will end up paying good money to agent & hoping in return we will get super good services but end up the feeling like getting the same services from PI.

So what is the criteria for selection for an ideal PI then? Here my criteria & pointers which i called it POWS.

1) Pricing & company history - PI beats the agent hand down anytime. Stay aways from those OMO company (one man operation) & fly by night company. Once the company closed down so as the purchase contract.

2) Overtrade - i doubt PI can meet the agent offered price due to profit margin. So dont expect a good deal on this one from PI.

3) Warranty agent - this one is the biggest concerns. If you get the wrong agent to service & repair yr car. u will most likely end up getting the car in the workshop more than driving it on the road. Also the warranty will lapse once the PI company closed down. Dont be too eager to sign up for extension warranty offered by them.

4) Stock availability - make sure is ex stock, be it agent or PI. Dont expect same specs from agent due to PI direct import from another country.

Till date, i found only 2 of PI meets the criteria after calling 8 to 10 PI company. Anyway, do share yr thoughts & criteria here or yr past experiences be it good or bad so that the members here get to learn so that what to look out for if sourcing for a new car from AN IDEAL PI.

MKt research :

Most reputable PI: Vincar . Good reputation. Long standing. Px mostly non negotiable.

Best brabus PI: first Automobile premium.

PI that bring in AMG kit usually with surprises on upside: Ask me or 6008

IMO most important is during the sales process you feel assured and don't believe in sweet talk etc.

Buy from PI unless the cost difference is at least 50k. If difference 20k etc buy from agent.

C class I think from agent ok. Px diff not great.

E class and above PI definitely more savings.

You nuking a merc seldom got lemon merc so buy PI still safe.

But actually usually you will buy from PI a unit that c and c seldom bring in or need to wait very long to bring in... Usually if u need AMG kit.
