Recently oso kana a stone hit my windscreen while i was driving along SLE....went for glass repair with glassmedic as i seen his post here regarding windscreen repair.

Super great dude named Desmond Ho from Glass Medic came to repair the crack and i am extremely happy with the end result....cannot see the crack at all after the repair that he had done....

He explained step by step to me while he was doing the repairing!!

For a small crack i think less expensive to repair than change the whole windscreen....no waiting time too...not sure if CnC have ex-stocks for windscreens anot.

Btw, repair time for mine by Glass Medic is about 40mins from start til end

AVIVA only pay 500 bucks and the excess I need to top up if I send back to C&C.

One more question to ask - is the front windscreen stick with optical solar film?

BRO . Repair is better than changing unless its beyond repair . Call Glassmedics and they will explain why . Good luck !:hand:

If you had the Huper Optik film offered by the AD then it should include the front windscreen.

My previous ride same problem long crack long...fully covered by AXA...only paid $20 bucks for the mobile service to come to my office carpark to fix it while I was at work.

Don't think I will chose AViVx once Chartis runs out...

no choice i dont believe in paying 4k++ for a car insurance for one year, so has to stick to aviva till end of 2013.

aviva has an option of paying just 100 bucks but have to go to their workshop.

from aviva webpage and i have call their underwriter and confirmed the information too

If you choose to use our Approved Repairer, your excess for replacing the windscreen or any other glass on your car will be S$100 regardless of the cost on the final invoice.

If you choose not to use our Approved Repairer the maximum we will pay towards the final invoice cost is S$600 minus your excess of S$100.

If you have the glass repaired rather than replaced we will not charge an excess if you choose our Approved Repairer. We will, however, charge an excess of $25 if you choose to get the repair done at a Non-Approved Repairer.

The Aviva Approved Windscreen and Glass Repairer is:

Glass-Fix Tel: 6278 0887

52 Ubi Avenue 3

#04-42 Frontier E Park @ Ubi

Singapore 408867

Making a Glass Claim on you Aviva Car Policy will not affect your no claims discount.

Well - if the repair is on the outside of the glass then it shouldn't be a problem as the film is on the inside - so may not have any effect on it. Good luck.

  • 1 month later...

happened to me too.

driving along the road past the grass trimmers when a stone flew over.

Saw a small crack but din stop as i was rushing.

Parked in the open under the hot afternoon sun for a few hours.

Returned to find that the tiny crack has entended across the entire windscreen.

Went to C&C, paid $100 excess.

Windscreen replaced and they even gotten it tinted FOC.

Bro hatch' date=' remember to monitor your next annual policy renewal fee[/quote']

Din know that would increase my premium upon renewal.

tks, will look out

Usually i would compare a few quotes. Currently new car with Chart*s. They aren't the cheapest anyway.

I'm just surprised with C&C's service here.

Glad to be given the "full works" without asking for it.

They reqest that i bring my sales n purchase to see that car was originally tinted by them.

Unlike elsewhere, i have to do my own tinting after the replacement.

Standard procedure...Yik, the Service Adviser will asked for the Sales Agreement...if Huper Optik was included in the agreement, you will get it replaced too FOC...see
