I've tested 528 2 to 3 weeks ago. Test driven it back to back with a 523. It is rather accelerative despite its size, and a bit more agile compared to E200 sports edition. Like the sound it makes too. Slight shift shocks could be felt when you put your foot down, giving it a more sporting feel. Refinement a tad better than E200/250. But inside the bonnet, it look rather empty, that's what you get due to engine downsizing. But less weight up front does improve handling.

As for the 523, it felt very heavy and the engine is severely under powered. If what people say about 'creamy'and smooth inline six engine and whatever superlatives frequently used by brand frantics and regurgitating from car magazines , this one actually succeed being completely gruntless.

Haha...well said. Actually the right comparison should have been the 528 (6 in line) with 528 (4 cylinder turbo). BMW purists will still swear that nothing beats the in line 6 even though it shares the same bhp but lacks the torque of the turbo. In the end, it's to each his own. Personally, I would prefer the in line 6 performance but scorn at the higher road tax & FC.

Incidentally, PML does not bring in the 528 (in line 6)...but PIs still has some on hand.

Tested the 520i with the 2L turbo..

the 8 speed gear box was quick... no lack of power.. but found interior space a bit smaller compared to W211 e200.. lack boot space too. Good sound insulation..

The equipment level given is very good.. GPS.. C-S-S+ mode, auto boot.. and the handling is there.. but if comparing comfort.. merc still the best.

Not sure about the OMV.

Yo bro, went viewg e new 520i n 528i bt didn't test over atat PM coz time constrain! :hand:

Bt had driven my neighbour new 520i turbo. Mostly everything was awesome as per yr abv especially e handle n Steerg wheel feel! :thumb:

As fr e space, its of diff design aspect coz its build more on performance n tat's why its v sleek outlook profile. In which its sacrifice e head to roof n boot spaces. :becky:

Sounds great!

The rear of BMW seems cramped is because the seat extends longer so ur legs feel more rested. E class seats are quite short so not too good for long journey.

In short kids like e class for the back spacious.

Adults will prefer 5 series back seats as their legs more well rested.

same here, almost sign.. but looking at the 70K COE.. sign... doing nothing, you lose 7K per year.. (apologies for the bro/sis that just bought car, this is just my view only).. and to me hard to swallow..

Next step is look at PI... :bounce:

izzit that I am not too sure? cos I test drove with my family.. and my wife sitting at the back gave her dis-approval.. BTW she is comparing it with the W211 e200.. but on the drive.. very hard to find fault..
