W212 E250 with 7G-Tronic, if light-footed, about 8 litre / 100km. Better still, if mum drives, she can reach 6.5 litre / 100km (and she's not road-hogging)

Hahaha! But I think I must be honest now, I live in Choa Chu Kang, and going pretty much anywhere is far from home. I beat the morning rush hour traffic so I don't need to do stop-start, bumper-to-bumper driving, and my family drives to the airport frequently for fun (equivalent to going JB? haha!).

I live on the other side of the island! Haha.

Actually I do hit 3000 rpm sometimes, but even then, FC still doesn't increase as much. Highest FC I've got is 9.5 litre / km thereabouts. Do you have heavy objects in your car? You've got a cabriolet right? Shouldn't be much heavier than my sedan eh, plus we've both got the same engine. (Do you have 7G-Tronic? That will definitely affect FC.)

looks like i've got to learn to be light footed. realise i hit 2500-3000 rpm each time i accelerate. That could be the reason why its hitting 6.5km/l

Not true...I'm also hitting 2500-3000rpm most of the time. Unless you are always heavy footed, else 6.5km/L is quite poor FC.:(

Btw...mine is 5 speed.:)

Hi folks... hearing all these..i still find that my FC is high..

Mine is a E250 cabriolet . Its also the 7G tronic rather than the 5 speed.. If that is the case, shouldnt it be more savings on FC??

Desmond, what is your average since u hit 2500-3000rpm most of the time as well..

Dude, what's your cruising rpm? Mine's around 1500-1800rpm at 90km/h with 7th gear. Maybe it's your cruising speed or rpm that causes unusually high FC.

Actually FC is very hard to compare one.

One can only say if using computer to test 7g FC better than 5g.

But in real life it's quite insignificant anyway.

Comparing FC doesn't work. Same car but sure different driving styles different road conditions.

Different idling times

Different lifestyles.

At the end of the day, most important u happy with your ride.

Comparing cabrio, coupe or sedan still same things = everyone is different.

happy new year!!!

actually want more point to note is FC should be compared with :

1. Same Driver and Between Diff cars that the same driver has driven.

So for my case = Best FC is c class limited edition 5g C180CGI W204, followed by E250 5gCGI cab then E250 7G CGI sedan then 1.8 litre Honda Civic.

So if your above theory is correct, then Cab 5G has better FC than E 7G sedan...:P

agree with vinmerc.. did realise a great diff between vpower and 98... once u had your vpower once, u tend to compare

anyone had the same observation as per vincmerc and myself... but again,.. fc is going to be high when u accelerate
