Apply footbrake and car still jerk and roll back slightly?

Hello guys,

I am driving the C180 CGI model.

Do you have this issue with the vehicle rolling back very slightly, or jerking backwards a bit, after you apply the footbrake after parking? For sure, sometimes the parking lots are perhaps not flat, but even so, I did not have this problem with my previous cars.

It seems like handbrakes work better. Even my father's nissan (footbrake too) doesnt have this problem. Maybe the C180 i too heavy?

Perhaps I should go to C&C for a check.

Anyone can kindly share your advice please? Thanks!

My ride is about a year old.

I engage P gear after I park. So the so called 'floating' movement is normal?

No issues with depressing the footbrake fully too. Somehow it just feel like the car body 'jerks' slightly backwards.

I didnt know that in P mode there is no need to apply brake even after parking. Isnt engaging handbrake or footbrake the standard operating procedure after parking?

Yes is standard but u can choose not to coz no one will penalise u :). This applys only for auto car not manual.

:welcome: singaporemini! :peace:

my ride is the same as yours and about 1year3months old... yes, what you experienced is normal... i get it occasionally too but the roll is negligible (probably not even 10cm)... i only feel this when i put the car in P without depressing the footbrake... if i apply P then the footbrake, the car is dead still...

if you wish, you can try putting the car in P and then depressing the footbrake really hard (like many clicks down! i usually just let it click maybe twice or 3 times) and see if the car still moves?

sometimes, it may happen also because when you are changing from D to P, your car is not totally still (brakes not fully depressed) and the computer can't decide which way to go...

let us know if it gets too problematic and if you'll be bringing it down to C&C...

hope to see you too at our many get-togethers!

cheers :becky:
