W204 handling is good... i went 100km/h through eastbound PIE exit to TPE/SLE (heading back home to pasir ris, the exit just before reaching Changi Airport) without any problems... should be able to go faster than that... also, the double apex exit from TPE/SLE city-bound to ECP (heading to work) near Changi Airport... 80km/h not a problem... :bounce:

Thats what i felt too but even that pales in comparison to the BMW 3 series. Worse is the R171 is like a good to look but sucks to eat handling car!

I think the question is does the W204 C200 handles better than an R171 SLk350? I have been driving the Slk350 for 4 years also and have never felt that it's handling was crisp enough. I don't find it surprising that the C handled that bend better. The 350 lump is heavy and tends to make the Slk understeer. Some say that Bringing the roof down balances the car better and i agree that Makes a bit of difference. U can try it. I think that Slk handles better when driven hard also. However, the feeling is nowhere compared to the Beeemers. the C has advanced agility control. In fact, I feel that my W220 S280 handles bends better than the SLk, possibly because of airmatics.

But I love my Slk it looks good, has a nice and problem-free roof. It's stock set up allows me to drive around carparks in a painfree manner. It's 3.5V6 sounds good as it smokes many pretenders effortlessly. Well, if it is honest about it's handling so I don't end up in Bukit Brown, I will forgive it.

i 100% agree that the SLK350 is one of the worst handling cars from merc's current line-up. I had mine for 3 years and i still could not find a way to cure it.

I am sure that many SLK owners feel that the roads in SG are getting bad from lousy touch-up jobs after they dig some hole in the ground. As long as there is a bump on the road, it makes the SLK dangerous to drive. Every bump causes it to wiggle the rear.

Not sure if the new SLK handles like that as well...

Wow, looks like the R171 must be the worst handling sports car that drivers are unwilling to let go of. Owners all have it for 3yrs and more while complaining abt it. Hahahhaha! Why can't we get rid of it?

Hi Redhood,

I believe all of us loves/loved our SLK and enjoys driving it very much.

What we're discussing is just it's handling, rather than the whole car itself.

you sound very defensive. Hope you're not offended.

The only reason why ppl don't get rid of it is the looks.

It still looks nice! Don't bother corner a not la. Singapore drive slow and the car look good can Liao! Hahaahah

If drive too fast ppl not in time to see the beauty of the car!

I feel the SLK handles pretty fine on local roads. No issues bringing up the speed on expressways.

Just that the ride tends to get rather bumpy at times due to being low when hitting uneven surface.

Great car to drive, especially so when topless. :)
