was buying coffee/tea at NTUC food court. overheard an uncle talking on his mobile and it was loud n clear.

issue was with his car insurance. the other party is Chartis. he change his stock rims/tyres to 20" sport rims/tyres and other mods which i didnt get to hear properly. now accident, his car insurance threaten to void his insurance.

after he end his call, he complains to his friend on the table, pay insurance for 3 years, never late payment, now accident for 1st time, "cheap" insurance want to play cheat.

Aviva and DA Disease spreading to others insurance companies now. even on sgcarforum.com, we can find articles complaining on AXA and Chartis.

Well. I don't think is right for these insurance companies to operate in such a way

The basic n fundamental meaning of buying a car insurance is totally lost when insurances find ways to void your policy 1st thing after accident.

Why pap government never debate this issue inside the parliament house?

Perhaps someone can write on forum and make this issue come to light? Utlimately, when accidents happens, it is the insurance companies that are laughing...

Yap !! Like it or not still can void. Even u change a pce of screw also can void coz the insurance covers only stock & original parts of the car.

So buy the cheapest insurance & 3rd party only. Cheap & nice!! In the event u involved in an accident u cannot makes any claims coz u have mods yr ride.

Come to think of it, if the other party claims against u which u are at fault & modded his/her car too, will yr insurance void the claims too? Hmmm

Hope this uncle goes to CASE and make a report against Chartis for unfair practices.

Any bro here done that before? Wondering what is CASE position regarding issues like this.

Actually, he should go to FIDReC (which stands for Financial Industry Disputes Resolution Centre).

yeah! :thumb:

actually, i did my 1st servicing at C&C AFTER i changed to 19" and dropped my springs... in fact, i also had an issue with the stock shock absorbers that were making noises (i documented this in some other thread previously) and i got C&C to change those absorbers TWICE even with my upsized rims and H&R springs still on!

everything boils down to the negotiation process!

and yes! "MOD DUN SCARE, SCARE DUN MOD"!!! :bounce:
