Hi Guys

Just need some advice here. I bought a 3rd hand C180K 2008 model 1 year ago. It was a AMG styling car which came with a Quad Exhaust. One fine day, i kena complain by god knows who so free. Then LTA asked me to go inspection. So i went to STA and they said my exhaust was cut into half before and welded. Which is illegal.

I have been searching around for quad exhaust which is LTA approved but all i found are for C200 Models. Benzline tried... Fong Kim Tried... KBS tried... ALL DON"T HAVE.

So wanted to check with forumers if any shop would allow me to loan their original stock exhaust for LTA inspection?

Good luck to u.

When I was planning for the quad exhaust, I call LTA and ask. And they told me is illegal.

One way to protect yourselves is to remove the C180K on your backside so ppl will assume is C200

inspection still will not pass right? bcos the log card print out shows it is a C180?

Worst case scenario...buy a new original C200 exos for inspection. You'll need it for the biennial inspection.

Since u had went for the inspection & failed, the only way out is to reinstalled a stock set. Before u do that u got to seek advise from LTA the process of reinstalled the stock exhaust. Such as, what if you found a set from a owner who can do the installation? Is it any Tom, dick & Harry shop or only by authorised workshop. The word authorised workshop is misleading & not many ppl knows the actual term for it. Only authorised dealer can do the installation as they have blessing from LTA & after installation they will furnish you with a letter for LTA inspection. As for the stock exhaust from agent & the authorised dealer is only See&See.

Did you ask MBM or First Auto whether they have approved exhaust for your model? If yes, ask them for advise & get it replaced ASAP.

Honestly, bro jtang above suggestn is e best solut'n liao! :whistle:

U shld quickly get quotes fm authorized agents which's much cheaper than C&C while await miracle! :whistle:

It'll b seriously difficult fr anyone here to lend u their stock exhaust set coz I reckon any hve kept or upgraded. Even if there're few bt may nt b our sgmerc member! :Cry:

Previously when I mod my Peugeot 407 exhaust syst, had hard time searchg n begging fr a used set or at least buy fr my first inspect'n until a SA of a close friend give me a helpg hand oni. Heng ai! :bounce:

thanks all for your views and recommendations! called up jeep chee today they have quoted a stock exhaust for c180k. but must be installed by authorized workshop? don't think jeep chee is authorized by see & see rite? like sian man.

After u clear LTA check, remember to de-name your car at the same workshop where u installed back your pretty quad exhaust.

Mod also must mod smart. Many ppl knows C180K is illegal to have 4 exhaust so u r a living target for complaint king
