W211 How to prevent headlight turns foggy?

I would change it if I were u... the older W211 blurred headlights really an eye sore... changing it will give your car a new look!

Yes, got it replaced at Benzline. Hope this new one won't get blurred out soon... :becky:

Don't worry... it won't... only older W211 has this problem with the headlights.... probably pre FL'07 model.

tried the polish...not much diff.

best to replace. Pre FL non xenon lights only 225 per cluster.

the xenon ones with motion very ex

Cost only $225 @ Benzline to replace?

The missus drove my car into another vehicle, and after replacement, the newer headlamp is not as bright as the old one

At Benzline, the headlight is 500 per pair plus 120 installation plus 75 for Philip white bulbs x 2...

not at benzline, at Merc Stocklist like golden link...etc

225 is for OEM Hella ones not Orig Mercs ones.

You don't hv to as long as u can live it & no issue during LTA inspection.

I agree with blackmercs.. no need to worry about LTA.. even if headlight inspection fail... car still will pass if all the other conditions are met..

I've replaced them. Jus wish to find anyway to prolong the lifetime of the plastics b4 it blurred out again...

Less usage is the only solution & stick to stock bulb.

These light clusters are protected with a thin plastic film so that when on highway, the stone and stuff dont chip off or scratch the lights. However,

the issues with this protection is that it is sensitive to sunlight or maybe i should UV, the UV from the sun causes this protective film to blur out over about 5 years. In Germany this is not an issue as they dont see sun all year like us. so if you want o prolong it. park car under shade and and cover the cluster as much as you can when not using the car.

I have checked with Goldenlink. They don't carry OEM headlights. Only the original ones at $388 per side!

Anyone got any lobang?
