W204 auto headlights

I wonder if it's only me but I find my w204 C350 auto headlights super sensitive. In these few days of gloomy weather the headlights are like constantly on the whole day even though it's quite bright.

Previous Audi and VW system seems to be "smarter" ie turns on when it's darker and not the whole day.

Yes I'm exaggerating about it being on the whole day but seriously it's so sensitive that I have to resort to using my fingers to manually do it.

Now I know I didn't buy a merc to have to turn on the headlights myself! :)

Oh yah and my car comes with intelligent light system

Just curious, what's the concern? Is it u worries that yr auto light sensor got issue or u afraid that yr xenon is too strong might blind the driver infront of u?

I think is perfectly okay as is one of the safety features. So I didn't bother to switch it to manual mode at all. Do observe around you during nite time there are so many cars on the road without switching their headlights on & is extremely dangerous.

My concern is that I feel damn extra driving around with headlights and DRL on the whole day when it's still quite bright out. :)

Honestly if it's all merc like that then no big issue but if it's only my car like that then I should get it checked out. Cos I see other merc on the road same time as me and their headlights are off so wondering if they all switch to manual mode also.

But ur right about there being kukus driving at night all lights off. Don't these pple have the awareness to realize that even their damn instrument clusters all blank??? Quite funny sometimes.

Bro guy013...you are not alone...and bro blackmerc is correct...i leave my on AUTO since Day 1, which was 1.5 years ago for my W212 E250 AVG...i noticed those that chose to manually turn it off (from the instrument cluster) are mostly those Ah Lao type of driver, afraid of being too loud...then why go for the ILS option with DRL but chose to turn them off:confused:

yes...there are many kukus who prefer to drive around the car park with their headlights off just because it is day time when some CP can be very dark...:tsk::tsk: cannot understand....maybe they have the wrong concept that by doing so they are trying to save some battery power

I noticed that mine is quite sensitive as well, but hey it improves visibility to other road users, why not? I just leave mine in auto mode and it is quite convenient as well especially when it's raining so frequently recently

same experience here i don't have the ILS but i leave it in auto. it takes really bright sunlight for the headlights to be in off mode.

Because of warranty, it is not advisable to do HID conversion.

Can consider getting a super bright white light instead.
