Questions about Daytime running light.

Hi guys, I would like to ask if there is a way for me to turn on my daytime running lights when my headlight is on? I noticed that other model like the E and S class that I've seen have the daytime running light switched on even though that the headlights is on, my my C class doesn't do the same. Any ideas?

Thanks in advance! :bounce:

Hi bro,

this had been discussed before. For the headlight and DRL to be on at the same time, the car has to be fitted with the Intelligent Light System.. This is not a standard on all C Class models.. If I don't remember wrongly, it is a $5k option..

This means my car, also C180K, is equipped with SLS (Stupid Light System).

Thanks for the swift reply, you mean I have to pay 5k more for an option to turn on my lights? That sucks.

Unfortunately.. Yes..

But even if you are willing to pay, not sure if C n C will do it for u.. I think this is factory fitted.. (but I may be wrong)

ILS is standard on the C350 but not the C180 and C200. It is unlikely that CnC will have ready stock of the C180 with ILS, so you will need to pay $5300 and indent the car. Then wait for months for the car to assemble and shipped.

Yours truely here just did that, now I have to wait for my C180 to assemble in Nov 2011 and wait for it to deliver in Jan/Feb 2012. It's going to be an agonizing wait.

same fate my friend. if u wan a nice nice ILS, u need to WAIT till next year for your new C180K.. and it wont come with the current 125i promotion free installation, specially command online wont be installed with your new car.

that why i choose to make do with SLS inside my incoming car C180K next mth.

work hard to change in future to C350 maybe. haha

The 5k is not the hard wiring that cost you so much is the chio xenon headlight set. I hv seen in person is not like those cheapo HID set cost that you only couple of hundred.

The default headlamp is yellow while DRL is white, it looks odd to have both of them switched on at the same time.

So, the mod has to include changing the headlamps to white as well.

I just visited Autospritz's website. They offer LSD (Lambo Style Doors). Looks cool. Any bro mod their car doors to LSD?

Dear all,

IMHO

All aftermarket H.I.Ds are illegal and U are safe as long as U are not caught.

Even U have projector lens in the pre FL is also illegal.

Like Bro Chiaster has mentioned, it not just plugging in a pair of after mkt H.I.D bulbs set which U can get as low as <$100 per set. Beside the whole xenon lamp assembly, factory fitted car comes with auto-leveling device.

This factory auto-levelling device for Xenon headlamps has been made compulsory for all new cars by LTA a few years back.

Just like the army - U can do whatever U want but dun get caught!

No, now it's really Intelligent enough to auto dim inn the night.

On - Off switch only turn on the DRL totally hence it will be too Bright in the night and that's dangerous.
