W211 e240 fc?

Am thinking of switching to a used W211 E240. Any idea what is the consumption like? Is it more ex to maintain than a W211 E200?

Nope E240 is a NA 2.6L V6 engine.

E200 is also about 8KM/L maybe 8.5KM/L.

It seems that E200 is more ex than E240. E240 is about 9k depreciation per year, whereas E200 is about 12k depreciation. Which is a better buy?

Wow.. that seems bad. .. I was contemplating to get a E66 BMW 730Li. Depreciation only 10k plus per year. But high fuel consumption and worries of high maintenance makes me hold back..

The E200 is it E200ML or E200K?

E200ML is pre FL like the E240 whereas the E200K is a FL like the E230 (2.5L)

The FL models came in 2nd half of 2006 and fetch higher price too.

Cos of the higher road tax for higher cap engine, that also can fetch lower resale value.

If all things being equal, the 1.8L E200 will get slightly better FC.

The good about the E240 & E230 are NA engines, no supercharger or turbo are very quiet & smooth engines. There's no replacement for capacity and the V6s IMHO are very good on the NS Highway! :becky:

IMHO

I've sat in my boz previous 8 yrs old E240 & the engine & car was as quiet as day 1.:thumb:

Very original low mileage of <60k km before he trade in for a new ride.

My previous FL E200K is a good car but when worked hard the SC is noisy.

I would say the NA V6 is quieter than the current new 1.8L E with Turbo cgi.

If it's within your budget, the E230 is a good buy especially the EOL late 2008 early 2009 models. Expect to pay around $130k to $140k.

Beside the NA V6 2.5L engine, 7G-Tronics & stacked to the brim with features not found in earlier models.

WAh!!! mine W211 08 is averaging 9.5 - 10 km/L. In S mode too.. but most of the time cruising at 90-100km/h. If on start stop city traffic.. die..

so hard even with the speed meter on the road displaying speed can only display 2 digits when i tak corners.

wa nv try before sia.. but impt is find a suitable road with a speed meter.. the 1 at clementi ave 6 like spoil after some renovation works.. when i turn only show the speed 20+km/h..
