19" wheels on c180 coupe?

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

Needing some good advice as i am planning to put on 19" wheels on my new class coupe, but do not know if it will cause the drive to be too heavy and sluggish?

Or should i just change to 18" wheels and lower the springs of the car for the looks. :)

Hope to get some good advice from you bros.

Thank u~

But will 19" + lowering of springs cause the wheels from hitting the body / fenders?

Could you recommand where is a good place to get the lowering springs installed and what brand?

Sorry as i am really new to mercs. :)

Nope, no rubbing issue if parts are meant for yr car model. Our site sponsor workshop will able to advise you.

How about your drive on a 19"? Is the power of the car badly affected? Is the FC bad or the drive heavy n sluggish?

FC & power loss is hardly noticeable. But what's perceptible in real time is the loss of comfort. If you lower your suspension on top of it, be prepared that your dentures or your parent's dentures to be loosened or worse...fractures if they have osteoporosis...lol! If you always drive hard, 19" does handle better in corners than standard. Otherwise it's lovely to have 19" for vanity & esthetics.:becky:

IMHO I think it's not only the 19" diameter that give the extra "hard-on"

As U up-size tyre U lower the profile and with lower profile, the tyre wall depth height becums shallower.

I had 245/40/18 front & 265/35/18 rear on my E250 & that was good enough for me.

However for the ML, the 255/50/19 are very comfortable cos of the higher tyre wall height FRom the "50" profile.

Rp 2 worth!
