Generally depend on the manufacturing date, "quality" & origin.

These are what we call primary batteries i.e use & throw away and non rechargeable. Secondary batteries are rechargeable.

All batteries has an internal resistance which will determine the self discharge rate however for Lithium Coin cells the self discharge is neligible.

Typical OCV (Open Circuit Voltage) should be >3.2V

It should have a shelf life of easily > 2 years if beh lau chwee

That's why Unker select fresh fresh 16 years old underage for U

Unker tio mo?

Keep too long, self discharge becos of their internal resistance so less power and sway sway poor quality tua lau chwee leaking.

Honestly sometimes I saw leaking batteries on the supermkt racks still on sales!:tsk::tsk::tsk:

I just changed my car key battery, but it still shows "Please change key battery" when I start the car.

I wonder why?

Check your Lithium Coin Battery CR2032 voltage with a multimeter to ensure it's at least more than 3.2V:hand:

I just found out why my new battery was supposedly "low in power".

Basically, I use the Maxell CR2032, while the original battery is Panasonic CR2032. Although the number is the same, but the Panasonic 1 is thinner than the Maxell. So the thicker Maxell battery could not fit in properly.

After a few clueless weeks, I realized this when I took out the battery of the spare key and compare the battery.

They should be std in size unless the Maxell got internal cell problem - pregnant aka cell swelling!

Best is check voltage and the cell shoujld be flat - no sign of swelling or leakage.

Panasonic is one of the world biggest producer of Lithium Coin Cell with their facility just outside Jakarta.

Actually the battery should be CR2025 insted of CR2032. The CR2032 is thicker than the CR2025. I believe the newer key uses the 2025 instead of the 2032

Ya...you are right. I use CR2025 for my W212 keys...and they are 3V only
