COMAND System

Not sure if this has been covered, but is there a chance of installing the COMAND system here in Singapore. And if "yes" would very much appreciate details on where I can get it done.

What do you need the commande sysytem for?

Navigation? DVD? Telephony set up or simply for good looks?

Thanks for the post.

I am looking to se it link up the original ipod connection and possibly for navigation.

Although I know that this may no be the most cost effectie way to do so, but I'd be inclined to use the 'neatest'.

Would you be aware of other ways to link the ipod to the audio 20 system such that it 'integrates' to the stock system?

Any thoughts would be much appreciated.

i would suggest you use the orininal Ipod interface by Mbenz.

If you need the navigation system, then you will need to upgrade to the command aps50 audio which will cost you in excess 10k.

This would need to be done by C&C...so far I dont think anyone has done this upgrade as yet...

bro, if the command system you are referring to, is the one that comes with the 7" LCD screen, CD/DVD playback, GPS along with voice command provided by C&C, then i think it costs ard 14k +

Thanks for the additional information.

I think the car comes with an audio 20... have also checked with MBM who says the ipod adapter will only work with the Comand system (not sure if this is entirely accurate based on your reply). Do you know of anyone else who may be able to linkup the factory supplied ipod adapter to an audio 20? Really appreciate any information or recommendation which you might have.

I am awaiting the delivery of a CLS 350 (I think the more experienced friends here refer to it as a W219... not sure)

If you manage to hook up your CLS with an Ipod interface that can used with your steering controls, do let me know, coz i'm also looking for 1 that does that.

Or at least have some sort of remote that controls the ipod.

Sick and tired of Fm transmitter and burning CDs ah..

Apparently, i heard from some of the other brothers here, that you can actually hook up with an audio out from your original radio coz it comes with it or something, but so far, have not heard of any oem that can actually allow you to use the steering controls..

btw, if you guys are using the COMAND system, technically, you dun need an ipod rite? you can copy mp3s driectly into the 4GB flash drive that comes along with it.

Guys I hope u are aware that fitting a Comand is not a simple headunit swap. U need to load in all the support module & wires as chances your car has none. Minimally 1 wk lor.

Perhaps anyone who knows C&C mech can check out what C&C did during the previous year CNY offer for Comand on the E at 5k more. It was locally fitted.

Yea, I also asked my SE why is the command APS at a crazy price of $14K+, he also shake head and say no one in the right mind will get that option too. lol

i did... :-[...but i also got an overall discount for all the options i picked...

i was offered 20% discount on the options but i did not take up any as it will delay the delivery of the car.

actaully hor...dun mean to OT...but merc's options...and not juz comand system, the prices for others, also really killer man....adpative headlights 5k+, delimit ard 9k...CF trim ard 5k or wat.....charging big bucks for a sophisticated system is one thing....but 9k for delimit? that's probably like flipping a dip switch or altering a line of code in the ECU....faintz

Oh he is very famous in US & Aussie. He is the man for retrofitting merc.
