I had a minor collision

Dear all

Just to relate an accident I had last Thursday. Was driving my e250 from ECP and getting out to Fort Road via the slip road. There was a Hyundai SUV in front of me and it had gotten pass the white divider lines, that is already getting off the slip road. What I did next was look to my right and seeing that there were no vehicles, I accelerated and didnt realise the Hyundai was stopped there seemingly waiting for traffic to clear. At that moment, it was too late and I bumped into the Hyundai.

My car was brought to Panadan Loop and they say had to change the whole bonnet and grille - cos the bonnet is made of aluminuim and the alignment is out which they cant knock but to replace whole piece.

Going to be in the workshop for one week. Super xian!

One time I was about to enter the main road, so my eyes were looking towards my right for oncoming traffic. As the traffic was about to clear, I released my brake pedal. Suddenly a bicycle ridden by an uncle cycled in front of my car from left to right. Luckily I did not step on accelerator.

Learned something new with regards to defensive driving.

You young man vs Unker!

Remind me once when Unker was driving from ECP --> Still Road --> slip road to Marine Parade Road (zebra crossing)

Young man on bicycle cycle thru zebra crossing!

Unker jammed brakes - Young man stopped his bicycle on middle of zebra xcrossing.

Young man gave Unker ugly stare and pointed his finger at me.

Unker wind down windshow & said "Eh! U suppose to push your bicycle and not ride on the zebra crossing"

Young man shouted at Unker "SO!"

Unker replied "SO! F%$K U lah!"

Back to topic!

Yes! The E250 bonnet is Alu and cannot be "knocked"

Even if U have dent - it's hard even for the PDR people to "erase off the dent"

I conclude this was something he learn from school that was put to good use.

Next time if it happens again, I will shout back "SO! SOYA BEAN LAH!"

Hopefully the bicyclist will laugh, fall down his bike and hurt himself without me touching a finger!

To TS miketee3, IMHO CnC will do a good job on your ride that soon U will forgot about the repairs.

My previous E250 when <1 mth old, the A Pillar on driver side was badly dented by Automatic car wash in MY. CnC did a very good job.

Tmr I will be sending my 2 mth old ML300 to pandan loop to repair the dent on the left side rear fender, door & replace the damaged side step.

Heart pain also no use and I believe they will do an excellent job again.

For me, not claiming insurance, so no replacement car

Thank you Bro for the advice and feedback. Yes, am looking forward to getting back my car soon. It was a major heartache for me initially as the car is only 5 months old.

Side track a bit,

Can anybirdie tell me since when LTA place traffic lights on Expressways?

cos during the morning drive to work,

cars can speed up to 50km/h then jammed brake to a stop then fast fast speed up again to 50km/h then brake n the cycle repeats itself a thousand and one times...

macham like rock n roll..

Haiz... cant all drive n roll slowly like wat Unker Batam says always..

"Drive like u have no brakes.."

How can we influence fellow road users to be more patient n have smoother driving habit??

Insurance premiums still no high enuff??

Haiz haiz haiz... :tsk:
