Advice needed

hi bros and sis, finally took delivery of my C180K! some minor issues surfaced:

1) intermittent rattling noise (sounds like something loose). can't describe it in detail. alr booked appt with CnC for them to check it out. it comes and goes hopefully doesn't disappear when they're checking it.

2) speaker giving out buzzing noise even when bass level set to zero. only when bass level set to negative levels then it can't really be heard. don't think this is normal right?

3) all mirrors should come with anti-glare tinting? seems that passenger side door mirror doesn't have it. rearview and driver side door mirror appears ok.

Not all ,only the Driver's and Rear view.

Strange it may be but I realize I don't ever get a problem with glare on that side so guess that's ok for me...

Er...I'm quite particular while drivg in e rain n only rearview, driver side mirrors comes w anti glare tint.:whistle:

Do keep us posted. I'm particularly interested as we are driving the same car. Mine is about three weeks old.

So far, no problem, except for the seatbelt mechanism on the front passenger seat. It creaks when the car moves. Can be rather irritating. Going to C&C this afternoon.

hi bro yes its true according to owners manual only rear view mirror and driver side mirror come with anti-glare.. cost cutting on the c class?:shocked:

same here bro my ride also abt 3 wks old! going to CnC on monday. i have confirmed that my radio speakers def need fixing. the buzzing noise appears on songs that have a lot of bass. can't hear it when DJs talking for example.

the rattling noise is most prob not my seatbelt mechanism. it occurs when car goes over uneven road surfaces.

any luck with your COMAND bro?

monday will be my 2nd trip to CnC. beginning to understand why ppl are fed up with them and writing to forums.. they claimed not to be able to hear the rattling noise even though i took both the svc advisor and SE on test drive for a good 1/2 hour!

1st time went down no loan car so fine give them sometime to arrange. took them almost 2 wks just to arrange one. :tsk:

Still no news on COMMAND. I doubt C&C will do anything.

As for my seatbelt problem, my SE arranged for a SA to ride with us as I drove the car. According to this SA, I must ensure the belt sash guide is engaged whenever I adjust the height of the seatbelt. I did as advised. No rattling sound. But later in the evening, when wifey was in the car, she claimed the rattling got worse. Sigh...

Looks like I need to make another trip to C&C. Double sigh... I must make sure the SE, SA and wifey are all in the car for this second trip.

Did C&C manage to resolve your car's problem on Monday? Are they replacing your speakers? What's the cause of the rattling sound?

Hi guys, just collected c180k on Saturday, also hearing rattling sound which has been identified as car glove compartment, feels like that part not well put tgt.. Hope info helps. Jus a big hello n thanks to all Sgmerc bros who have been sharing info on this forum, much appreciate the stuff I learnt before buying n collecting. Unfort can't go amg as will be out of town!

the rattling sound from the glove compartment is pretty common... i have it on mine intermittently... have learnt to live with it after 1 year... :whistle:

anyway, no problem if you can't make it for the AMG... join us this friday for the la kopi session and also the month end get-together as well... check the Events section!

Well, at least they change your speakers. These are the big ticket items. As for the rattling sound, it seems to be the bugbear of MB cars nowadays. Declining QC? Sigh....

Anti Glare

I guess I may the odd one....as i dont like the anti glare. The mirror turn too dark when driving in the night, so i put a very small piece of sticker over the sensors at Rear View Mirror. The auto anti glare cant be activate anymore and i like it....

today's update: CnC has ordered the speaker and will replace it once the part arrives.

hoping that either the rattling sound goes away by itself or the intermittent sound behaves itself and shows up so the SA can hear it..

1) finally solved by CnC after much troubleshooting. turned out to be coming from the dashboard. hoping it doesn't come back. now i can really enjoy my ride!

Credit to C&C. Been happy with their service.

Guess its really a matter of expectations. No car or AD is perfect.

After my experience with another AD (one that has expanded beyond their capacity), guess no other AD can be worse. I rather they take their time and do a good job then to do a slipshot one resulting in me having to send it back. I'm not a patient man, but i rather have friends there than to be banging table for everytime i'm unhappy there.

Well, heres my bit of the story:

Had noise from the seatbelt along the pillar everytime my shoulder moves.

C&C KY-ed it. Quiet ever since.

Slight rattle from my dash. They insulated the panel around Command.

Heard the rattle once in the last 1mth. Hope thats the last.
