SRS Malfunction.

Hi all,

Today an SRS malfunction light came on- please call w'shop.

Called up C&C - typically, waited a long time before someone picked up.

The guy said it's something to do with the airbags and I need to book a date to do a diagnostic check.

To book a date for the diagnostic check is between $100 to $200 - that too not including repairs.

I would appreciate if anyone can share if they faced such issue.

How much did it cost to repair & where please.

Thanks.

Every time I change steering wheel SRS light comes on!

It takes less than a min to clear the warning.

Did U do car audio or some interior work?

MBM should be able to clear the msg provided it's not a real malfunction, then they have to check the cause.

Bought it brand new but it's 6 years old now. With COE prices where it is, this car will be with me for a long time.

Never mod the car in any way; so it's a random fault.

Never seen this fault but I Googled it in overseas forums. Most say it's a wire from the ignition to the airbag that needs replacing.

I've given up on C&C - they're beyond help. I go there and it feels as if they are doing me a favour.

Thanks guys. Will post if fault is rectified.

Matter solved:

I brought the car for polishing/waxing.

The guy cleaning was over-enthusiastic and yanked come cables out of the connector on the passenger side.

Brought it to a shop in Sin Ming and the guy diagnosed for me.

I was lucky coz it was a simple fix and got charged $80 for labour....

Now I'm thinking should I hassle the polish/waxing folks??
