Hi Bros,

Will be collecting my C180 7-Gtronic in Oct/Nov thereabouts. I'm thinking of getting HID headlamps done for my new ride once I get my hands on it. Is this legal by LTA guidelines? Any bros here who has converted to HID on their W204s and passed inspection?

According to the LTA guideline (http://www.onemotoring.com.sg/publish/onemotoring/en/lta_information_guidelines/modifications_and_vehoffences/modification_guide/hid_headlamps.html),it says all HID headlamps need to have an auto-leveling feature. Does the W204 come with this feature? Please advise.

I'm a noob to Mercs. :)

You are right about the LTA guideline. It's illegal & will not pass inspection. Pls do not install the HID using your existing headlamps as they are not projector designed. Putting in HID will make your lights super glaring to other motorists & I always curse & swear these cheap mods. Sonic Racing has a not so glaring HID, but it's still illegal.

Welcome bro silverarrow...

If your ride is brand new, LTA inspection is 3 years from now...unless you suay suay kenna booked by police...otherwise just enjoy your mod...come Year 3 you might have changed to another car already :music:...

all the 前辈 here will tell you..."if scare don't mod, if mod don't scare"...enjoy your C180

What about white halogens? The reason that I'm bent on changing to white headlamps is mainly cosmetic. The facelifted C-class comes with white DRLs but yellow headlamps, something that irks me quite a bit.

Also, where would be a good place to get exhaust pipe tips for Mercs? The facelifted C only comes with a bare and naked twin exhaust. I would like to dress it up with a chrome tip that looks good on a Merc. :becky:

Please advise.

I hope you realise that when the headlamps are swiched on, the DRLs are off. As they both do not light up together, it really doesn't matter that the yellow headlamps don't match the white DRLs...yes?:becky:
