Aging M3 (E92) still better than new C63 coupe

i am prepared to be pawned by M3s this sat on the track...haha.

i can say straight off the stock suspension is not meant for track use. The car feels a bit floaty to me when above 200kmh and the stock tires width are too small. Will know more after my first virgin track day on the merc. :)

I thought the new C63s are on DCT already.

I think thats why they had to build the C63 Black Series to beat the M3 haha.

Have a friend that owns the M3 GTS and intends to order the C63 BS. Will check with him what he thinks when he has driven the BS.

thats why m3 better. got different settings for suspension. Already tuned for track :)

the c63 needs at least a KW V3 or clubsport to have any chance of challenging the M3 IMHO.

Will take some vids and u can see my crappy driving...haha

Okie, finally had time to get the video uploaded to youtube:

My take on the C63:

The car has big over heating issues. During the 1st warm up lap i was already hitting 135c on oil temp. It went as high as 140c on 2nd lap. So the max i could do was 3 laps including cool down. BAD! :( Thats why for the C63 BS, they use the SLS oil cooler instead, which is 50% larger. And for the BS track option, they install an extra transmission cooler at the rear diffuser area.

Transmission temp also prob hit very high. I could only complete about 1 lap in manual mode, then it went into limp mode.

The stock tires, think Yokohama, sucked..plus stock suspension, I couldn't drive a clean line. The car was sliding all over. Was so worried i would slide into other cars near me :(

Brakes are ok. Did not experience any brake fade..Maybe not hard braking enuf..haha

Am looking for solutions for the oil temp issue, likely to go for a larger oil cooler, lower temp thermostat etc..

Ok, thats it for now. Cant wait to try the RE11s.

Good drive but I felt that you are being too gentle on the car.... expensive car LOL!
The Evo that overtook you was really fast, he disappeared from the cam after a few turns.

haha.. cause i didn't have confidence in the setup. The stock suspension is too wobbly and the tires kept giving way. Was afraid of sliding out to the gravel. Worse thing was i have to cool down after 2 laps. The engine kept going into limp mode.

The car is really not meant for track use. Need to do a bit of work to the car before going track again. Well, at least now i know what stock feels like...

Yeah, the EVO are all very fast in sepang. I think they should be doing 2:30+

Good & beautiful C63 ride bro. :becky:

ya...agreed w u on e stock susp & tires.

Bt since u knew abt e initial setup, u shld hve slow slightly earlier b4 each bends n keep e rpm high instead of hard acceler after. This ll create more torque on e rear thus power lost on grip n pick up too. U'll lose grd on each bends/ cornerg. :hand:

Dun worry, next rd wil b even better w setup improvement. :bounce:

Nicz...recordg n pls keep us on our seat k. Kam Sia bro. :becky:

Ok liao, bro C350, when ll b our sgmerc track day? Buoy tat Han liao!

Thks for the tips. :) Will take note of that.

I was on Sport mode so the car was controlling the rev. I tried using Manual mode and the transmission went into limp mode within 2 mins. Think i revved too high..

Was reading the new MCT has the same problem... one trick i read was to switch gear before the car prompts u, once u hit 3 the red line 3 - 4 times, the transmission will go into limp mode. So the trick is to up shift before that. Gonna try that next time. Hope will have better results.

Ya..naturally tracker flr too hard thus creatg high rpm. Also yr ride re build-in semi-auto tramission even if u switched to manual mode. it'll limp into next gears soon b4 as to protect e gear box damages. My personal prefer re manual bcoz I can manage/ctrl each bends n corners. :becky:

Btw, if u notice why u re able to close up w the two cars at e bend n corner bcoz they slowed b4 n kept their rpm mid rev then after they zoom off correct. :music:

U ll sure to obtain a better n gd result on yr next rd.

Oh...any idea tat white evo 10 drove by a Malay chap? Name: yusoff fm cycleworx. :thumb:

I used the gopro stuff. Pretty easy and flexible to use. Can even bring it for diving :)

I was with the BMW-SG track day, the slots are usually gone within 1 day. The next TD is 10 dec i think. Or u can try TCC. But they usually have lots of cars around. Track fees is around 200+, depending on organizer.
