Heng ah.. pass liao.

Next question pls, doc.. :bounce:

On a serious note, i dun do dat.

If forget to straighten the wheels and move off, pretty dangerous especially if u r parked next to the pillar or wall.. :frusty:

Also heard "other people say" this action will bring additional stress on the bearing near the wheels or will affect alignment or something.

Any inputs, anyone?

Truth is there's no help in preventing theft. The tow guy (thief) can actually lift the front of the car & place his tiny wheels below the front tyres to maneuver the car out.

For rear wheel drive, u park reverse in bcoz the rear wheel is locked & head in for front wheel drive. This is to prevent tow truck from towing yr ride in Msia.

As for when parked the car & turn the wheel only apply on a slope. This is to prevent the car roll off if the handbrake gives way. This method is meant for manual ride, up slope put in gear & down slope in reverse gear.

For auto ride once your car at P (park) position even the handbrake fails the car will not move at all. So is does not matter whether u turn the wheel or not even at slope.

30marks.

No matter how you park the car in M'sia, whether it's head in or reverse for rwd or fwd, the tow guy (thief) can still maneuver the car out of its lot to tow away.

The slope car park, good answer...but more relevant to manual cars as u said.

i always make sure my front wheels are super straight before leaving the car . haha if a bit off , i repark it  there was one time where i was working as a valet and this fella stop his car with 1 full turn so i assume its straight and drive off and almost bang wall  hate people parking beside me in carparks with wheels turned especially when they already park so near the white line  also heard if wheels turned when parked will lose air pressure on one side over a period of time as the car weight is distributed to the front wheel of the side you are turning to.

No. Only bad drivers do that cos they can't park their car properly?:becky:

Haha...not necessary. I have seen experts parking parallel in 1 swoop but too lazy to straighten the wheels. 15 marks:becky:

For saying that you leave the wheels straight always...you deserve 40 marks. But your reason is not really it, though there's some truth. :becky::becky:

I always reverse park and ensure that wheels are straighten before I off my engine . That's to prevent anyone or myself from kicking any of the tyre and fall . Muahaha..... :pound::pound::pound:

When parking facing downhill, turn your front wheels towards the curb or right shoulder. This will keep the vehicle from rolling into traffic if the brakes become disengaged.

Turn the steering wheel to the left so the wheels are turned towards the road if you are facing uphill with a curb. The tires will catch the curb if it rolls backward.

Facing uphill without a curb, turn the wheels sharply to the right. If the vehicle rolls, it will go off the road rather than into traffic.

Errr..this was already covered by Prof Blackmercs earlier. As he had said, this is more relevant for manual tranny cars.

10 marks for this attempt...:becky:
