Turbo Timer

No need lah. Kompressor won't heat up, unlike turbo. V6 also don't heat up like turbo. CGI is light pressure turbo, not so hot like full turbo...so no need also.

Pls add 25 postings to my account...thks!

By not putting one, does it affect the overall performance of the car? Discuss and indicate examples (25 marks)

Bro...turbo timer does not affect performance in whatsoever way lah. It's merely a timer that allows you to set how much time you want the car to cool down before it shuts down.

Turbo timers were highly recommended in turbo cars some time ago as they were the old design that's water cooled. To preserve the life span of the turbo, the car has to idle for a few mins before shutting down otherwise the turbo will kaput faster. Sometimes you would have come across some drivers sitting in their cars for a few mins with engine idling after parking their turbo cars. To avoid this, the turbo timer allows one to walk away & lock the car with the engine running before it shuts down automatically. Understand?

Pls credit my 25 points...thks

Is the CGi light pressure turbo? The reason I'm asking is that my previous car was a Volvo S80, which was a LPT, and my wife's car is a Forester, full turbo. I find my E200 CGI having a bit of turbo lag like the Forester, unlike Volvo which was quite quite seamless.

Having said that, although it does feel like q little laggy, there's no sudden kick like on the Forester. So basically I'm quite confused.

im not driving any turbo cars but normally before reaching destination will ease on the trottle to let it cool down slightly.. plus the parking time shld be enough.. (actually the temperature is still the same but it feels better mentally)

Modern turbo cars no need turbo timer lah. I had a couple of volvo turbos b4 oso no TT and no issue at all. Guess TT is more useful for the old skool turbos in the 80s when turbo running temps were much hotter b4 the introduction of intercoolers, no ECU to perform engine management and synthetic oils were stuff of science fiction.

It realli amuses me when i read that ppl who drive NA family bread n butter cars like vios or civic go n install turbo timer.....LOL!
