W212 wing mirrors on the W124

I'm currently drive the w124 and the wing mirrors don't give me a good view of my blind spots. I'm aware that what i have now is a flat mirror. I've searched around for a convex mirror(not the round blindspot mirror you can easily get at petrol kiosks) for the W124 however i've only found those on the ebay. So i was wondering if it's possible to retro fit the W124 with mirrors from the W212 which seem to give me a better view when i drove my friend's w212. Do you think it's possible to do if i were to do some fabrication?

Is possible but is not like a direct plug & play. Do some reasearch like checking the mirror mounting, wire & connector etc for both model. If is similar then u are in luck else look for a workshop that WILLINGLY to help u to mods. Good luck!!

It's a formidable task....you can buy the W212 mirror & cannibalize it to fit into your W124. Sure you want do this?

Haha I don't mind giving it a try since my current mirrors prevent me from seeing my blind spots properly. Besides I'll be keeping the car for quite awhile. So why not? Do you think the line on the mirror will be accurate if i happen to be successful in the conversion?

I fully agree with TS about the blind spots, especially at driver's side. This is more obvious after I drove a Vios all the way to Pulau Redang jetty. The Vios has very good wing mirrors.

I've had a few near misses - was sure there was no car beside me and I wanted to filter to the right lane and voila, a car appeared when I turned my head to check the blindspot the normal way.

If the the mirror had been bigger, I'd have spotted the car earlier. To make it worse, the B-pillar zhun zhun blocks my view.
