This my 1st post, as I just found this wonderful sharing forum from all experience MB owners. My current ride is gs300.

I'm planning to get a 2nd hand 2006 E200 Kompressor (PI) milage 64k mm & will be my 1st merc. Need advise on servicing that to be aware of eg. As follows:

1) is running on timing chain/belt?

2) when is transmittion oil change?

3) whe is major service & cost?

4) any faulty problem at 70k km milage?

Many thanks in advance.

hi mate.. this is my input on your query

1. timing chain

2. ATF.. every 80,000km shd be fine or 2-3 years once but if you want to be comfy, get it changed the moment u get it..

3. major service- standard stuff includes changing oil, spark plugs ( if needed) oil filter etc and rotation and balancing of tyres, lubrications of door hinges etc, checking hoses and the rest... cost.. about $300 or so .. but star black.. which i have taken a liking to should have a package that should suit you..

4. 70km faulty.. doubt so.. my car has done more than 157k km is running good..

i would recommend you to get the car STA evaluated, that way any matter that needs to be brought up will be on the report..

Still, my main suggestion will be.. use a good garage

You getting the facelift model E200k or E200ML? If pre FL E200ML, would suggest u get the C&C not from PI.... SBC warrantly will be a issue..

Hi its an facelift model E200k (So no SBC), not a C&C Car, and its a classic model. Congrates anyway. :)

Thank you actioneer, for your verification. It's a relief for me, no SBC.

I'm not sure if it's fl e200k

this is the car be getting. Please refer to this sgcarmart http://www.sgcarmart.com/used_cars/info.php?ID=179838&DL=1387

Advise needed if is al FL.

Hi

Please notes this is not a C&C car the OMV is significantly lower at 43K C&C ones are at 52-53K some even up to 57K. So please nego the price at least 10K lower than market values as the original buyer would have saved even more than that! otherwise you will suffer from low Parf rebate and even lower export value due to the "Classic" trim.

This car mainly no problems esp the FL one. Beware of the AT though please flush around 80K km. average cost 380 with merc orig. parts & atf. the legs stuff like suspension will tend to need replacement around 100k. electrical sometimes tricky. may need c&c for software updates. there has been cases where c&c provided service wo adoption charge

anyway congrats! many cheap parts and info here please look at previous postings

Leong bro, I used to own a GS300 too...don't mind if I ask a pertinent question. Why change from a V6 3.0lit 6 sp ultra smooth gearbox that does 0-100 in 7.2secs to a E200k with a 1.8lit noisy supercharger & a primitive 5sp gearbox? Hope you have test driven it long enough.

Gs300 to me is a perfect comfort car & too lay back. This is my 2nd Lexus that I drove, that why I'm looking for something differant, e200k was on my list for the start.

Other prestige car like BMW way too much of unsolve electronic issue, so I will not get my self stuck to that.

Lastly I always wanted to be part of Sgmerc family. Hope you guys poison me with all your mods during gtg.

The Audio 20 is the standard CnC HU while the Comand is a >$12,000 option over the standard Audio 20.
