Hankook Tyres

Hi Guys

Was just informed today that my front tyres are nearly gone, as in inner walls are thinning due to wheel alignment off and also one of the tyre is damaged.

Have narrowed down to Goodyear and Hankook. Was recommended the Ventus V12 evo by tyreshop 1 for hankook and the GY efficient grip by another shop.

Anyone have used hankook before ? care to share your comments ? difference in price between the 2 is around 50+ per rubber.

Thanks

ET

V12 not bad for the kind of price. cut water tyre with reasonable gd grip on dry. i am on Hankook V12...15000km and thread stipp deep deep

For better grip go hankook RS3.

If u dun mind can try kumho also value for $$$ tyre.

KU31 = V12

Ku36 = RS3

...it's been one week on my hankook and clocked 1250km, so far the experience has been satisfactory, quiet, good road hugging, confident. Hope that this traits will stay for another 20 to 30k ..".....overall value for money, but if you have a deep pocket , Michelin is still my choice. However, I can't say much about the customer service of out hankook dealer, that another story.

Cheers and have a good week ahead.

their v12 evo not bad.... quite good..... i using now... used to use F1 asymmetric... dun stereo type korean tyres... they are quite gd too.... at least not china hahahah

price is subjective... SGD$50 per tyre is not a big difference... its all marketing.

I suggest you google a tyre comparison and make a choice. Both tyres are good but increasingly, i notice that many merc cabbies use hankook and many people in Europe use Hankook too.

Hi Guys

Just a quick update on my set of Hankook after 40K. The verdict is - DON'T buy this tyre. Super noisy and worst of all, it became deformed. Yes, after running more than 30K, the tyres started to have uneven surface, check with Hankook agent, he says its my suspension that caused the tyre to have little "bumps" .

Subsequently, I went to another tyre shop and they told me that these tyres cannot take the weight of our conti. blah blah....so I am now switching back to Conti tyres and also back to 16" rims. What a different it makes with the stock rims. Comfort.

Yes, they are good for Jap and koreans but still not there yet for heavy weights.

Cheers

Eric, uneven surface on the tyres is mainly attriibuted to worn suspension. Have you checked your shock absorbers? If this is not fixed, the same problem will show up on the new Contis too.

Hi Doc

Yes. checked suspension liao, still ok, but I am still going ahead to replace the shock absorber just to be sure. Thanks

Hi Mac

Do let us know once you hit 40k if the sound has increased. maybe it 's my suspension that caused the tyres to deformed.

cheers
