W204 "choppy" windshield wipers

Just took over a 2007 W204, first time in rain this morning. Windshield wipers very "choppy" and noisy :(

Set to 'highest' setting seems to be better.

When I spray with the wash it gets better but only for a short while (not sure what is in the wash, but the car was from Republic Auto, but still probably whatever the last owner left in it...)

Any ideas?

Few possibilities I can offer..

- windscreen oily.

- wipers rubber harden. Try rejuvenate with armorall spray or chain new one.

One set cost ard $60-80 depending how big ur carrot is.

- some bros here clean with wet newspaper, some clay bar, some use polish.

- pretty common thing abt merc windscreen.

Go dig up on threads in C class folder abt juddering wipers or windscreen for more insight.

- soapy water from washer helps me too but after a few swipes, choppy again.

I usually dun on the wipers all the time. I let the rainwater fly off or flow down by itself. Maybe can try getting used to this cos even coming to 2 yrs wif my ride, rainwater still flies off or roll down my windscreen..

Personally for me, I would avoid using those carwash dat is wash n wax on windscreen.

Kinda feel the wax will cause wipers to judder too..

Get silicon wiper. Wiper from c&c is good but nothing compared to silicon blades. I changed mine at this workshop (tampines st 93 blk 9012 01-159) few months ago - the guy literally changed the blade to fit into the car wiper. So far, works really well during rainy days....no regrets....

What car model is yours? The blades on W204 & W212 can be stripped with much difficulty but almost impossible to assemble back with the silicon blade. . Been thru that route before & gave up. Sacrificed a good rubber wiper blade & spoilt the new silicon blades as well.

W204. Agreed that its tough to take out and assemble; so I didn't do it myself. I went to the workshop and get the fellow to do it for me. Until today, it's still there....and he said got any problems, just go back to him. Nice chap....
