Worth getting a 6-7th old E200ML

In short, basically its a normal thing, and since my car is already 6yrs old, i can't possibly bring it back to C&C and have it changed FOC.

Its bit like a grinding noise. And yes, it comes on when u step on the brakes (i think). At least I dun seem to hear/feel it when driving on the highway.

Oh AFAIK SBC is life time warranty by Merc, so a defective SBC change is free (labour not sure). The newer unit are "supposed" to be softer in volume than the older ones (no one can truly comfirm this yet). Cheers!

Still need to pay $600 plus for the change of brake or fluids oil..

Ok. Need some advice for my 6yr old E200ML.

1. The brrrr-ing sound i can get used to. I guess no need to go back to C&C for replacement.

2. There is like a "scraping" feeling when i steer hard and go up a ramp (multi-story car park). Not sure whats causing it.

3. Before purchasing the car from dealer, the inspection check from C&C stated

- suspension weak

- engine mounting worn

- auto leaks

I dun feel any problems when driving the car actually.

I actually brought the car to one of my usual mechanics @ Sing Ming for servicing already. But he is not experienced in Merc.

Just wondering if I should send the car into Starblack for checks. Bit stupid for me to spend $$$ on the Sing Ming mechanic previously. Should have gone direct to someone more experienced.

get your problems fixed... especially the leaks... you can go to star black, mbm etc... as long as you get along with them and manage to get your problems fixed... that way .. you wont get a snowball effect when many parts get damaged... remember.. you have to pay for wear and tear.. but if you differ it.... bills become much bigger...

Well, i'm still sourcing around for cheaper options and such.

Seems like rear shock absorbers & ATF change is top priority now.

Was at Starblack last week and they said engine mounting was pretty ok, no need change.

All in all, the car seems ok to me on road. Good news is (and keeping track) I'm glad my ride can get 10pm/litre FC. Had lower expectations considering it's a large car.
