Hi,

Just like to chk w fellow bros here regd FC for 1.6 C180K (W204). My 1st refill aft collecting my ride gives me only 7.7km per litre and my 2nd refill takes me only 8km per litre.... A far cry from the stated FC. I used 95 RON and hv a mixed of 60% urban / 40% highway. Car just clocked past 1000km.

Anyone driving this model can share what's your avg FC? Frankly, I tink tis is rather high FC for a 1.6 ride.

Thanks.

Seriously, the C180K it is not just a 1.6 but a 1.6 SC Engine and also the weight of the car is unlike a Jap. Your consumption do seems high. I am getting average of about 10km/litre, anything more that I can get is a bonus. I am on Shell 98 from day 1.

7.7 km is indeed a rather shocking figure, but again it depends on the heaviness of your foot as well. I am getting 10 km on average so let's hope it gets better after running in. Tyre pressure do play a part too

I am aware that it is SC and that it is heavier than a Jap car. My previous ride was also a conti and 2.0 TC and my FC avg about 10km/litre.

Yes indeed it is alarming bro. I am not heavy footed esp it is during the 1st 1000km run-in. My tyre pressure at 250 (Front) / 240 (Rear). Are you on 95 or 98 RON?

fuel consumption shd improve after 5000km when the engine is a bit "loose"

I am on RON98. Never tried 95 before though. FC should get better as mileage increases.

A few tips to share..

- try refilling with 98, emptying previous tank as much as u can.

see got diff anot.

- maybe a aftermkt air filter may help.

- FC suxs if u do most day driving, hot hot weather.

morning traffic kills too when theres a lot of start-stop.

- go easy on braking.

- tire pressure.

- 2.0 TC n 1.6 SC got differences if on a similar weighted car...

I'm driving a W204 C200 Komplayzer.. i only know for Masili... u can only keep rolling :car:, cannot never stop cos ur fuel will burn burn n burn :target:.. LoLz

Thanks for the tips. Frankly, I dun do day driving except morning to work and evening back home. will take note of using RON 98, but again, even if FC improves, it comes at the expense of higher $$.

It should get better. I recall my 1st full tank only got me 500km, that's like 8.3km/L. Now I'm averaging about 11km/L after running in, 60/40 hwy/city.

11km/l is very good for a 1.6 SC. Let's hope that mine will improve soon. Am on my 3rd refill now..... mileage just past 1k. Fingers crossed!!

What tyres (size, type, brand) are you on?

I do know RON95 usually yields poorer FC.

and this is RWD,... so rear tyre pressure should be higher than front. to get better FC.

I have never been on 95... on Esso 98, my FC range between 8-10km/L ... depending on how much city driving.

I m only stock Bridgestone RE050 R17/225/45 tyres.

Now i am almost 90-95% city driving.... FC is about close to your 7.7 ... mine maybe about 8km/L... i stop monitoring FC.

my pre FL C160K BE :becky: gib me about 515 km when the reserve light comes on (so usually just shy of 9.5km/l)... stock rims/tires, K&N filter, pump 240 front/back and mix of ron98and 95 Shell... v-powder gib me worst FC... now mileage pass 5000km (damn i need to lotate tires)

i always in peak hour traffic day and nite from upp serangoon - lornie - PIE - jurong east... so got highway like no highway like tat unless school horriday then FC become hosay.

if heavy-foot then usually 480km light will come on.

i am testing the method that when jam then switch to "S" mode when no jam just go with "E" coz "S" usually lighter tap on throttle to move car so maybe more fuel saving :noidea:

I am on stk staggered tyres - Conti CSC 3 (AMG Sports Pkg). Ok I will try to inflate my rear pressure higher to see if it helps. Thanks bro.

I'm using this AMG rims/tyres too. Try 36PSI for front & 40PSI for rear. Rear always more than front for RWD cars.

Doc,

  aint ur ride a little bumpy on 18" n 36/40 PSI setup?

ur tyre pressure quite different from the table found on the petrol cap.

Nope, not bumpy...but I like it hard for hard cornering. The table recommended is way too hard...36 for front, 47 for rear I think. That's for full load. I usually tend to follow the full load pressure for performance tyres...it brings out max performance.
