Cleaning of MAF sensor

Hi all, I think many owners are using k&n filter. I took the filter out to wash and oil recently and I realize that there is a fair bit of oil at the honeycomb area of the airbox. I think some of the oil could have got stuck at the maf sensor as well. Anybody took out the sensor to clean before? I can't find where the bolts are to take out the maf sensor.

hi mate... in some volvo cars.. k&n filters are known to 'clog' the sensor etc... hence best to stick to orginal.. anyways nowadays filters do last a long time.. so why bother...

It actually allows the car to breathe better, so the main reason behind is not about saving on changing filter cost.

Bro..actually Mercbumpkin is right. The car does breathe better, but mine is a BMC filter. I get better acceleration than the OEM. Thought I was playing tricks with my mind, so I switched back to OEM filter for a day & I was totally convinced that there is an improvement with BMC. Never looked back since then.

During my recent service w Star, make request fr a clean. Ah Tan (SS) explained tat the usual cleang wil be a gentle blow on air pressure blower system. Only able to clear visible dusts n a small percentage of micro dirts. If MAF spoiled by poor air filter system or misproper handling, usually its break. So try avoid diy necessary n let e professional handle it. :hand:

Bro, visit our site sponsor 'Starblack' fr better understandg n if u wanna a peace of mind w the cleanliness of yr MAF, hve them clean up then. :becky: Also check n clean yr stock air filter along.
